Streetscene, cassiles heard a rumor on Sunday that you guys had people up watching Dungarvan on Saturday in anticipation of playing them in the next round?
Any truth in this?
Any report on the game on Sunday against Leeside?
Heard this aswell, very Cocky indeed if its true.
As for the game the better team won.Blarney Street could have had a penalty and could have got a late equaliser but it wasnt to be.Other than that they offered little in attack.
Both Leesides goals were good goals and other than those we didnt create much either.
I watched the game too an it wasnt the best affair but that was down to the state of the pitch rather than any ability.2 teams both gave it their best an I dont know if I agree with your opinion exactly Towlie but maybe Leeside just about shaded it.The subs Leeside brought on made a huge difference to ye.Good fit young players eager to run an as in the 2 nd Leeside goal well taken .
Our game against Coachford was just about what I expected.A very rusty first 45 followed by a very much improved 2nd.Tis what you'd expect havin not played a competitive game for so long.Lucky for us the lads have been training hard so our fittness showed big time in the 2nd half. The score was 3/1 at full time though we had an easy 4 one on ones we should have added to the score in the 2nd half. The first half was all about gettin goin an the 2nd we got into our stride an played like our old selves for the first time in what seems like an age.Good to see some of the lads in full flight an enjoyin themselves again..
Their's only one Dinny Pop's.
Well lads on been overcofident you only need to look above at my predictions. I have the utmost respect for Leeside and knew going down there was gonna be tough. Been honest I taught we left it there, in terms of possession.didnt get enough men in the box when balls were crossed in. 1st half bar the Leeside goal there was nothing for both teams, 2nd half we had 60% if not more but all that matters is putting the ball in the net which Leeside did, On consceding the 2nd we were pushing on and it was just a clearence from the Leeside defence that went over every1 and the centre forward was quickiest to it{not taking anything away from the finish} I even commeted to Betts that we would then go on an score but 2 goals was atough 1 to do with 10 to go. danny Q had a half chance and John Betts right at the end poked wide from 4 yards out but in fairness to John it just came at him. If you spoke to the Leeside gaffer I would say they were very happy getting the win.
Scouting missions now yer defentily taking the ****!!! and down in Waterford dont think the Treasuer would saction that
If there was {and i dont think there was} a scout down there I or the gaffer knew nothing about it. Watched Dungarven Vs Blackstone earlier in the month alright .
Lastly best of luck to Leeside in the MJC and to the Cork AUL up in Roscommon
"Build it and they will come"
lads that is complete horse ****.. we watched them against blackstone alright couple of weeks back but thats about as far as we got.. i was way too comfortable watching el nino steal the show and then i ventured up to watch the second half of the gratten/coachford game so i hate to dissapoint ye but was not next nor near dungarven sat. have tried few times to post a detailed report on the game sun but each time i go to post i have to log in again.. any tips here lads
very dissapointing result for us on sunday and before ye jump down my throat im not taking anything away from leeside.they deserved their win simply because they scored more goals than us but at the end of the day we could not get past their back four who were rock solid and that was the difference in a nutshell. my dissapointment comes from our performance. as long as i am involved with this team that was the worst performance i have seen.we could not string two passes together and looked like we lacked belief in a dismal first half.leeside scored their first goal from a corner which to our keeper did manage to get a punch on to the edge of the box but the ball fell to one of their lads on the who drilled it back in through a sea of bodies into the back of the net. cant remember anything else worth mentioning from the first half... more to come
second half was slightly better but still nowhere near good enough. we did manage to keep the ball better and put a few passes together but everything we threw at them came straight back at us and we just could not make any impact against their back four. we did domonate for a spell but as alaways happens when your pushing on you leave yourself open to the break and this is exactly what happened.with 4 or 5 passes they cut us open and in all fairnes to the lad who finished he took it well. we did manage to get one back with 5 to go through an own goal which was the only way we were going to score. we did have one or two half chances in the last few mins particularly with john betts who after a scramble in the box found the ball stuck under his feet and his scuffed shot agonisingly fell the wrong side of the post.. summed up our day really..messy,scrappy and totally frustrating
Unlucky Blarney Street, well done to Leeside and best of luck in the next round. I dont think we did ourselves justice against Dungarvan, and I hope ye do.
I was a bit suprised by Casilles's tips - i understand your honesty, but I would lie and back my team against Brazil......no, scratch that, I would believe we could beat them!!
Streetscene, I re-wrote the Dungarvan report 5 times and ended up with an edited version like yourself. I dont have a solution Im afraid.
Arent rumours great??? Someone heard bits of the sentence - Blarney Street went to see Blackstone and Dungarvan.......and Blarney Street were in Dungarvan!!
Never let truth stand in the way of a good story!
High Noon for the Oscar Traynor - like Blarney Street, I will think ahead and ask where the final will be on?
i do fancy leeside to get a result against dungarven and they go into that game with our best wishes. i think they have two or three really good players who can be the difference on any day. the lad keane in the middle is a lovely ball player and delea is alawys involved one way or another. for us its back to the drawing board wend night. try and put this result behind us. any scandal on the aul with the weekend ahead.heard there was a lot of knew faces up at the recent game against mayfield. any of these force their way into mintys plans?littleman any inside info!!! you know what ever you say wont be mis interpreted or turned into a rumour here!
de courcey - wilton called off - pitch wasn't up to standard...
