take from it what you want

firstly streetscene welcome on board.sometimes people can read an only take in what they want too or what they take exception to.with reference to my comments about the blarney street players an having a winning attitude you have to take into context what i was aiming at.the oscar traynor this year for the aul will be run over one weekend, goes well we are through,if not we re out.for me then the form sies, glenthorn, wilton an kinsale even leeside should be the basis of the panel because at the minute there the best sides basically becuse they are winning, with all due respect to the blarney street players bar peelo there are better players in the league.peelo may be an ex gratt but when i was asked about what players i thought were cpeable of doin a job the aul from blarney st he was the only one i genuinly thought was better than anything else in the league in his position,an i still think that.its not a slur on blrney st,far from it havin players selected is an honour .i have said from day one to many people that i felt the street were a very good football side but i thought they my struggle physcially up front, again not a slur just my opinion.notice i havnt been sayin that i'd have everyone from the gratts on the aul panel, why because at the minute we not playin as we should an the oscar games are basicily cup games, one off's an form is the key,as i have said.

by the way they play the first wekent of november

as i have been reading on the forums for the last week or two the oscar traynor team seems to be a major issue mintys job is to pick his best squad and if he leaves players out of some squads so what, a subject i would like to know more about is if we as clubs are been punished for players been booked financialy should nt the team with the least amount of bookings or sending offs be rewared in some way i have seen a few games so far this season and a lot of the games have been very close
have been very impressed with wilton and kinsale

    food for thought

The current Oscar mangement wether liked or not are the ones who are in charge of who gets picked. No matter who is in charge some will be unhappy thats just the way it is.I for one think they have at least used there heads an spoke to various people with regards to finding players outside the prem/prem A top sides. That has to be a good thing.Past managers have just picked the majority of players from the prem league top 3 sides an went with that.I can remember being on a Oscar Traynor side when I was a 1st division player an the other 17 were from just 4 clubsRockville,Greenmount,Coachford an Passage an even in trainin they had there little groups so the team ethic wasnt there. The current group that have been choosen an wether I approve of them or not, they are what we have to go with so we might as well get behind them.

With regards to your very good point Streetwise I was only talking to a member of the disicplinary commitee last week an he told me that they hope to use the monies collected from clubs with regards to the yellow cards in a positive way.He said they hoped to reward the clubs with the best records with some form of for want of a better word present,ie a matchball or training equipment ect ect.So for me that would be a great incentive for clubs to continue there efforts.Theres no chance of us gettin something from them though because our yellow card count aint great as it is

    point taken

point taken littleman but having been involved with these players for last few years just couldnt let the reference to only picking winners slide. we will agree to disagree.think its good that ye are getting few players back cause they should never have left anyway.great point from streetwise about the cards system and rewards.who do the gratts play this weekend. with reference to le tizz, thanks for your good wishes for rest of season.we did ride our luck a bit down in the fort but for once this year we got a bit lucky.but was really impressed with new pitch and this is something we should all strive for.playing on pitches like that against quality opposition is why we wanted to get up premier so much.from what i have seen there is very little between all the teams up there.should be a really interesting campaign. am i correct in thinking pacman is neutral.always think its good to get someones views who have no allegiance.any predictions on upsets in the cup this weekend.now that cashmans are taking bets on individual games.how long can this last

    the bigger picture

I wasnt inferring that the Blarney St players dont have a winning attitude its just luck is not on your side right now an we all should agree to want the best for the Aul team an form players from the teams hittin form are our best chance for the 2 games over the weekend, simple as that.

We are due to play Buttervant away on Saturday in the Mjc with the winners having home advantage against none other than the current Mjc champs Leeside in the next round.A big enough carrot for anyone I should say.I havnt been following their fortunes much over the last few years but they(Buttervant) have one of the best pitchs in Cork so it will be up to us to do the job.A funny thing for me at the minute with regards to us is that we are creating chances at will just bein very stop start with regards to takin them.A bit of fine tunin from the management should sort it an this weekend sees us with a full squad for the first time all season .

With regards to the Mossie let it with me an I should have some news today, all it takes is a phone call lads to the right person an info flows freely.

To finish with regards to the current league tables well done to whats on top as they currently deserve it.From here till xmas will for me denote who will be in the best position to challenge. The teams who last the longest in the Mjc an Fai will be the fav's an Tizz will back me up on that because they will be the ones with all the games in hand when the silly season starts March/April playin against sides who will be waitin around for weeks on end to play there last fixtures.Ta ta for now

You forgot the Munster Senior cup tie between Douglas Hall and Leeside Pass&Move or does it not qualify as a major cup?!
Douglas Hall will be red hot favourites here, our form isnt great at the minute and we are short a few.The fact that they are one of the best senior sides in the country doesnt help either so I think I'll go for a Leeside win

Just on the possible meeting of Leeside and Grattan in the Munster Junior Cup,
This game(if both come through their respective ties) will be played in Little Island.

    norrie news

    norrie news time lads,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the mossie i have been informed wont be happenin until after xmas (its my understanding that it will be played as soon as the cork teams in the fai m/mjc are in the open draw)an is supposed to be the same format as in previous years ie few teams to a group.cant see it workin that way but what the heck we'll give it a try.

Best wish's to Leeside against Doughlas in the senior an junior an I can't see either Buttervant or the Gratts bein bothered where they would have to play in the next round.......its would to just be nice to be in it

Cant see any major upsets,a few niggly games but nothin stands out

Bella an the Street lads should have a good game but Innish ye will have to be at yer best to do the Village lads in there place, they lost at home against Macroom so I would expext them to bounce back, insider advice kkep the ball away from there center backs an you may be in,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Aa I have said I cant see any major shocks happenin goin by the form side but its a cup weekend an they no doubt will be,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I just hope its not us

Were hoping to give ye a good run again this weeek, but were missing 5, 3 important players who played last time, balls like. Is their a oscar traynor game this weekend.
