Got our first point on the board last night with a hard fought 3-3 draw away against Ballyphehane .We played some great football in the second half to come back from 2-1 down & lead 2-3 only to concede late.Have to agree with toepoke about the ref,he was very poor on the night, gave a yellow to 1 of our players early in the game for decent ( he was complaining about the challenges on Figo ) but never once cautioned any of the Bally players for the amount of fouls they committed on him.I'm not saying Bally were dirty just persistent fouling.
Looking forward to the game against Blarney Street Saturday.

Nah Parkboy I'm the manager! I was the fella in the blue and white t-shirt on the line. The handsome one![]()
Watched the Villa and Kinsale game last night with a few of the Blarney Street lads. Game finished 2-2 with both teams scoring in injury time.
Kinsale were missing Varian and one or two others and looked fairly ordinary without him. Villa were down a couple of players also. Derek McCarthy was easily marshalled by the Villa centre halves. Villa had much the better of the first half and were unlucky not to be two up before Kinsale went ahead. The villa back four pushed up leaving the centre forward offside, however the kinsale winger ran from deep and the ref deemed the centre forward not to be interfering with play. Villa were awarded a soft penalty a few minutes later.
Kinsale had more of the ball in the second half without creating any real chances and the game looked likely to finish 1-1. However in injury time Kinsale got a lucky break from a corner and the ball ended up going over the head of the villa keeper, not sure if the kinsale player even meant it. Kinsale were barely finished celebrating when one of their players was red carded for a bad foul just outside the penalty area, and the resulting free was missed by everyone and went straight in with the last kick of the game.
Overall a draw was a fair result. Was not impressed by Kinsale their defence looked shaky, and their only tactic seemed to be balls over the top and down the wings to their forwards. Without Varian this tactic didnt really work, and they didnt really seem to have a plan B. Villa looked decent and will be tough to beat in the fairfield but they need to improving on their finishing.
Who'd you support pacman
didnt see the game last night either but it sums up the previous game against park too, didnt get out of 2nd gear (didnt seem like there was a 2nd gear) and a very ordinary performance, defense a bit shaky, midfield very average- didnt help the front 2 and provided little support to the defenders, sat way too deep in my opinion and that encourages mistakes in front of goal. derek mc is being forced to work in midfield and be sole creator up front (varian missing against park too), i dont like criticising but there's still a lot of work to be done. thats the 2nd equalising goal inna week conceded from a direct free kick that should have been avoided, thats something we're gonna have to stamp out now before it costs us any more grief, its cost us 4 points already
looks like the league is a lot more balanced so far though, everyone taking points off everyone else, no one team looks outstanding, the decision by the league to start with league games seems to be encouraging competition early on and i for one am delighted with it, lets see how it all pans out
a team who can get on a bit of a run now (wilton !!) can get good momentum up and with the big cups on the horizon then the league might take a back shelf forra while, big squads and fit players should and will be the difference so keep the tough running up lads
here's how we look after the 1st few games (table is a bit wobbly but the best i could do at short notice)
Premier League.....Pld....W....D....L.....GF.....GA.....Pts....GD
Wilton United............4......3.....0.....1.....5...... .6.......9......-1

only a passing comment but all the norries are at the bottom of the table, get the finger out biys![]()
Looking at that table there is very little between any of those 10 teams.
Every point is gonna have to be fought for.
We have had a bad start(shock!!) with our games against Kinsale and a
gutless display against Wilton.
A massive 3 points for us last night though out in Park.It wasn't pretty
but we battled hard for it and sometimes this can be more pleasing than playing
total football.

Anyone have any idea when the Cork AUL are scheduled to play the opening games of the Oscar Traynor Cup? Always a good time to book a weekend away... unless I'm picked to play of course![]()
Olachico.
Any news on your pitch this w/end, ( A-Team vs Coachford )
No word yet on the pitch in St Aidans. A team game v Coachford is Saturday and B team game is Sunday morning. Unofficially i'd say both are off but dont take my word for it. The decision isnt mine! It was boggy enough there yesterday evening and taking into account the weather today it could be totally water-logged. The best I can say is that until you hear otherwise its on. I live 2 minutes away and my back garden is totally flooded!!!
does antone have any news on which games are off 2moro in the premier or premierA?
Park v Wilton off. Can't see many games being played this weekend
