The problem is that most won't support regardless of how good or bad things are going of course!

Think the problem SLK is that the situation tends to go from bad to worse, back to bad and vice versa. And yes the sign of a real fan is when you stick by your club in the bad and worse than bad times but i feel the lack of support for the club comes more from the off-field financial problems more than anything else. Hopefully that is sorted now but only time will tell. The sad thing is that because of this the on-field exploits of the team are ultimately suffering as is the fan base!

Cast your mind back to the attendances against the likes of Dundalk and Shels last year when we were flying in the first half of the season and tell me we wont get the crowds if we're doing well.

This thread has gone waaaaay off topic!

Ah yeah I'm not disputing we get bigger crowds when we do well. They're still fairly miserable though in the greator scheme of things. Which isn't a specific Limerick problem but a problem nonetheless.

'The club is not being run right' is just another in the long list of excuses people in this town give for not supporting their club, if we were throwing money we didnt have at a team that was flying we'd have big crowds regardless, whats trying to be done at the moment is the right thing to do even if its not great on the pitch sometimes so I guess we gotta hold tight for a while.

You up to that challange Mr SLK?

Agreed, but don't you think that the club's financial problems in the past couple of years has been because simpliy the crowds have not being coming through the gates. If people who claimed they know something about "football" had supported Limerick over the years then Limerick would be in a better position both on and off the field.

    True, can't argue with that.

the problem is most "football fans" in ireland, not just limerick, want success overnight. They want a good successful team straight away and just aren't interested in putting in the effort to go up to matches through the bad times unlike the small amount of fans that do go. Its a sad fact but its true.

Sure you know everything or at least you think you do..you think your the manager the way you carry on at games trying to tell players what to do from the sideline there'a a reason they're on the pitch and your Leo The Lion!!! And some"Lion" you are antagonising the Shels fans last season only to run and hide in the club shop at the slightest hint of aggro...
