The Republic of Ireland Under 20s start their preparations for the World Youth Championships in earnest on Wednesday evening when they face the Czech Republic at Dalymount Park (Kick off 7:30).

Cork City duo, Liam Kearney and Kevin Doyle, as well as Graham Gartland (Longford Town) have been called into the squad following the withdrawals of Stephen Paisley (Longford Town), Jonathan Walters (Bolton Wanderers) and Adrian Deane (Charlton Athletic).

Kearney was in Smith's original squad for the World Youth Championships, but an ankle injury forced him out of action in April and it has only been in the last month that he has returned to full fitness while for Doyle and Gartland, it is an opportunity to impress the manager an stake a claim for a World Cup place.
