Yeah, we used to enjoy our almost annual battle against nenagh in the mjc. some good games over the years, all very close despite some dodgy hometown refs in nenagh
you are only a loser when you stop trying. Playing sport does not build character, it reveals it.

Dont know about that papa the last time we got a ref in our favour clare we"re good at hurling but yes all 3 games very close i think they all finished 2-1.Both teams tried to play football so thats what made the games enjoyable. Its a pity ye folded.

    Exclamation Pitch liner request

    Hi All,
Olympic had a shed burnt down last weekend and it contained some pitch equipment, which was destroyed.

Would anyone have a pitch liner that they do not use anymore?
I am looking for the old style bucket liner that uses Lime and water?

If you have any ideas where to get one can you p.m me please. cheers.
Oh and can someone donate some grass for our pitch also!

I see your pitch took a fair hammering last weekend, when will it be playable again?

Just saw the cup draw there....wow looks like there will be a potential chance that those "light-hearted" friendlies could become the real thing...so there will be finally as set in stone result of the question which is the better Bridge team... I see from the clare website that both team won their respective divisons so it really will be a interesting match. Although thats provided the Bridge B's beat NOF Celtic B's( are they any good?)

Old git it might have been a friendly, but if you were there you'd have seen that both the A's and Bumble Bees were takin it very serious, a lot of pride at stake!!! Good game played in good spirits, better team on the day won. Lifford A are shakin in their boots I'd say!!!

Does the Clare League realise that the country is in a recession? Our club got two fines in the door during the week fining two players 40 euros each for accumulating three yellow cards. The fact that alot of people are losing their jobs and with unemployment looks like rising to 12% before the end of the year how can the league justify this rule.

Fair enough if it is a red card you get a fine, but for three yellows????? Come on especially if you don't get on with a ref you can get three yellow cards quite easily over a couple of games.

Have any other clubs got these fines lately?? I personally think that is out of line, any thoughts?

i assume all clubs were advised of rule & fines before sason started if so not a lot you can do .. but 40 euro for 3 yellow cards seems very harsh.. at this rate you will either have the ritchest league in ireland or no players left as they cannot afford to pay fines .. getting very expensive now to play an amature game .. start of season 40 euro to register to league and heard a few clubs also charging memberships .. pay for training twice a week / match on sunday .. for a so called amature game it is getting very expensive ... would be very intresting to know what is being done with all this money league are making everyyear with registration fees / fines.. we have a so called county grounds out in doora which is used only every so often how many finals were not played on our pride n joy in doora last year

good one old git... what happened was we held the mighty lifford scoreless until close to end of firsthalf, 1 down at the break and a few of the boys dropped their heads for rest of the game n it finished 5-0.

no just jokin the real story was we had a team meeting before the game and said that we'll lose this game so we can concentrate on the league title as we had heard we were down to travel to newmarket next weekend for a must win tie for us if we are to have a chance of winnin the title
