I think we'd all be fooling ourselves if we wouldn't admit that deep down we know all the top sports stars are doping. Doesn't diminish from Zidane being the best player of our generation in any way, same as it didn't for Maradona

Its come up before about Italian doping in the 90s.
Funny how ZiZou got better when he left and went to Madrid![]()
"Football is a game you play with your brain".
As stojkovic pointed out, Italian football was full of doping in the 90's. Zidane, Del Piero, most of that Juve side were giving "special injections" to keep them going.
There was one incident where, the night beofre the UEFA Cup final in '96, iirc, Paolo Cannavaro recorded (or else was recorded by someone else) a video of one of his teammates getting one of these injections. Parma won the UEFA Cup the next night.

Ever wondered how a football player can recover from an ankle injury in two weeks, the same injury that would require us normal humans to rest it for two months?
On an aside I'm constantly amazed that people are amazed when a football game is found to rigged. I remember readin a quote from a mafia boss in relation to when they started fixing college basketball games in the US, he said that if there's money to be made from betting on something, you can be sure that that something is rigged. Had a real eye opener a while back when I was in Ladbrokes putting a few weekend bets on. An Asian man walked to the counter, produced a roll of 50s and put a bet on Spurs drawing with Chelsea 4-4 at what I can only imagine was ridiclous odds, you can imagine my surprise when the score came through that weekend that Spurs had in fact drawn 4-4 with Chelsea

I know Zidane and much of Juve were taking creatine, which is legal, but it would be interesting to see someone come out and admit to something like EPO or steroids.
Anyone else cynical enough to think this could be a marketing ploy though?![]()
You can't spell failure without FAI
It's more useful as a painkiller though, right?
You can't spell failure without FAI
At the time Zidane was at Juventus, the delle alpi was more awash with substances than the poppy fields of the Panjshir Valley... Juventus have always been a corrupt team, operating beyond the margins of legality
Makes sense.

Haha bet you were kicking yourself for not copying the Asian guy's bet, next time you'll know what to do.
Not sure how they would rig that game though, exact scores are difficult to rig, were both keepers in on it to let in exactly 4 goals but no more? Seems a lot easier to just bribe the ref or one of the keepers and just bet on the winner. Wouldn't be surprised one bit if it was discovered that a lot of premiership refs were bribed
Maradona was banned for doing cocaine. Cocaine is not a performance enhancer or something that will help you recover more quickly, etc.
Being banned for taking cocaine isn't as bad as being banned for taking a performance enhancing drug or something that will help you recover, etc.
Taking cocaine is not cheating.
