can somebody from town explain why mckeever is not mr popular anymore..........how can ye argue with such success. dont get too complacent and start thinking ye have a god given right to turn up and win the league every season. it may not be so easy this time around. pity saints seem t be on a downward curve though, and villa are shocking at the back. havent seen celtic but hope one of the 3 can put up a challenge for the leagues sake

    Weekend's results

    Sunday 24/08/08

    Clonmel Credit Union Premier League

    Clonmel Celtic…2 Clonmel Town…4

    St. Michael's…6 Cahir Park…1

    Rock Rovers…2 Old Bridge…3

    Peake Villa…4 Rosegreen Rangers…0

Cahir look like they're in trouble already. They play Rock Rovers on Wednesday night, which seems to be a must win already, even after just 3 games!!
Peake Villa look like the team to beat at the moment.

villa the team to beat? look i have been lookin at the league for over twenty years and we all know that villa will lose next weekend to twn and collapse. lost by 5 or 6 to town and michels near the end of last year. have no defence this year. suprised to hear they didnt concede against rosegreen. as for injuries, i hear only barry ryan is injured.enough said. anyone at town vs. celtic? whats the verdict

    Villa

were Villa not extremely understrength when hammered by Town and Saints last year.who exactly is injured from Villa? O'Connor was sent of against Saints..so I presume he was missing against Bansha / Rosegreen

Had they a strong side against Rosegreen?

Very surprised at the hammering Cahir took from Saints...to beat them 6-1 is fairly impressive as they have been taking things seriously.

Its really going to be between Town, Peake(with their returning players) and Saints...

totally agree villa will be hammered next sunday and should have been against saints but for poor finishing in the first half and inexperience of youth in second half,as for o connor i heard he played sunday? as for barry ryan he went off injured with his knee against saints hasnt played since,he is a mouth piece but one of their better players, that defence wont hold out wednesday or sunday, same 2 will fight for the title as every year

    Smile What about The Bridge??

Am sick of listening to everyone on about Town and Micahels going to walk the league again. And that Celtic and Peake will have a say.
Why isn't anyone talking about The Brdige, they are back and could win the league, The FAI and Tipp Cup this year...........by the way I am langers today was on the Mickeys Finns before work

On another note I feel Town Man should stop dissing his own club, 99% of the other clubs would love to have the same success as Town have had the last number of years but then again he is only one of these people who is too cowardly to say what he has to say in person but has to do it over a computer screen, brave man
I am not dissing my own club. I have followed Town for a long time and I am concerned by the way the club is being run. I have to be honest and admit I don't know Tony Scully or Maurice Walsh. However, looking at the club, I don't think it is being run properly and a lot of things have gone on that they were responsible for. In Tony Scully's defence, he has been involved in football all his life and I was more disappointed with him. However, I would love to know Mr Walsh's credentials in the game that allowed him to have such a high profile job in the club? Who did he play for? What exactly as a PRO has he achieved?
Rant over, I won't bring it up again but I might just attend the next AGM and air my views there.

You must be langers. You can't spell "Bridge" correctly :

Anytime I've seen ryan play he has a lot to say for himself...but he's not the only one in the league in fairness to him.

I am also a longstanding Town fan and I heard about all this slagging off of club officials, so I decide to join this forum. Well I don’t know the three men you talk about personally, but Brian O’Donnell and Tony Scully have been around football a long time and they have both done a lot for the game. Tony Scully was a great player with the Old Bridge, did his stint there as manager and also was assistant to Billy Lambe when he was first manager of Town.
Brian O’Donnell was a founder member of the TSDL and has been involved in football all his life. Look at the all weather pitch that’s in the complex. I am not saying it was all down to him but he was the Chairman.
In relation to Muiris Walsh (it’s not Maurice) in my time following the club (almost 30 years) I never seen Town as high profile as they have been over the last few years, maybe with the exception of 1994. He has brought the club no end of publicity.
He is a regular guest on Tipp Fm’s sports show on a Monday night and I have to be honest he is the best analyst they have and that includes all sports, again all of this is good for Town. From talking to a few people from within the club, he is the man responsible for Mckeever being at the club and he is as passionate a Clonmel Town fan as you would get. People have told me he is one of the brightest and sharpest people in Clonmel Town and the big hope is that he will be chairman one day.
So before you start slagging off any of these three men, get your facts right and as people have said if you feel that strongly about it, go to an AGM and say your piece. That is the correct forum not here!!

I am not the biggest Town fan in the world but I do know the 3 men been talked about very well. I think maybe they are getting alot of stick lately cause of what happened last year when Town were kicked out of the Munster and there was no re-precusions within the club because of this?? Muiris Walsh does a great job within the club from what I know but he doesn't live in Clonmel anymore and has 2 new children so maybe he doesn't have the time to do as much work in the club like he used to. Brianie O'Donnell aslo gives up alot of time for the club with running the all-weather pitch etc. Not sure of Tony Scully's role but I agree with the above everyone knows who Clonmel Town are they are very high profile but maybe it is time for a change in the background who knows.

Any word on the Town v Bansha game? That was a good three points for Town. Peake will be another tough test

In defence of Muiris Walsh, I think he writes well for the South Tipp Today paper and is an excellent analyst on an otherwise dull Tipp FM Monday night program.

    Top man.

I think Town were delighted to get away with all 3 points in Bansha Wednesday night. It was a close game and Bansha were missing 4 starting players. I hear Pa Quinn has just transferred from Cahir to Bansha.

I didn't hear about Pa Quinn leaving Cahir; didn't he just join them from St. Michael's??
Big news though is that Robbie Costigan has joined Clonmel Town from Cahir. That's a big loss for Cahir and a major signing for Town. They have been after him for some time and now look like they have finally gotten their man!!
