    Oxegen - Highs and Lows

Highs for me where Paddy Casey, Editors, Stereophonics, REM and Tom Baxter.

Lows were getting really badly sunburned and having some ignorant guy kicking me just for fun.

Highs : REM,Republic of Loose,Kaiser Chiefs,Chemical Bros,Mylo,Kings of Leon, pretty much every group I saw to be honest, it was a great collection of Proper festival bands this year. The tents that were around me,great bunch of randomers this year. The walkways around the campsite.

Lows: Unexpected Sun burn, Having a guy behind me at BellX1 repeatedly tell his Girlfriend loudly to kick me/Slap me and then I'll move for a good 20minutes(the pains of being at the front for BellX1 eh?),the large number of legless chav's(for want of a better word) and that about. People that consistently talk through a performance that they've absolutely no interest in..

Highs - Saw Doctors, Mundy, Ting Tings (the girl is amazing), Zutons, MGMT (absolutely brilliant, crazy show!), Stereophonics, Verve, Chemical Brothers, Blizzards.

Lows - None really, had an amazing weekend, maybe the sunburn on Sunday was a bit of a low I suppose!

Broke my golden rule of not getting drunk at gigs and realised too late that it was time for MGMT and the que was massive so couldnt get in. Gutted. Only thing I missed over the weekend that I wanted to see.

Another high for me was talking to a guy who had his little 6yr old (approx) daughter with him. She was a massive Wombats fan and was wearing her wombats t-shirt which she had gotten signed at the Hot Press tent. It was really sweet coz the Wombats had written "The Wombats *heart* Amy" (think that was her name but you get the idea)

I should hope that's her name, if that's what they wrote.

I stayed at home, watching T in the park on TV, with a nice cup of cocoa.

I heard MGMT weren't all that great with the vast majority of people there to see "Time to Pretend" and the band apparently very fidgety with there instruments and time wasting, the gig was apparently stopped after some mentalists climbed up the steel structures in the tent.

yup there was loadsa people who climbed up on these black boxes that were around the steel structures, but one girl climbed the whole way up the steel structures, now i dont know how high it was, but i wouldnt fancy looking down from where she was. it was absoutely mental. the band had to be called off for about 15 mins while the organisers told everyone to calm down. one of the craziest things i've ever seen!

Alabama Three were amazing and so were the Pogues. If that girl had of fallen it would have resembled the mexican bean stew I had from the hippy tents.

Highs: The Manic Street Preachers and Sterophonics were brilliant. 2 old school bands that I didn't expect much from. Also liked Kaiser Chiefs. MGMT and Vampire Weekend were good too. Suntan was a plesant addition, as was the lack of mud. The food there was top notch too. Paying €7/8 for takeaway is more bearable when it's tasty.

Lows: Chemical Brothers were a bit a letdown but it wasn't really my scene anyway. The MGMT delay was annoying as they only ended up playin bout 6 songs. Also totally forgot to go to Hot Chip, but I'm sure we'll see them somewhere else. REM played a lot of the new album which I'm not mad about.

Seasick steve was great. Came out, chugged a bottle of JD and gave it socks on stage! Got the crowd going throughout as well!

    And rightly so, stupid b!tch!

For me, Pigeon Detectives, The enemy, Editors, Groove Armada (went to them with no expectations but wow!) Chemical Bros and The Courteeners(watch this space) were all class.

Prodigy and Interpol were pretty poor imo.

Only place i put suncream on i got burnt

The 1st time I saw Groove Armada I fell in love with them too. They are amazing live. Went to Kings of Leon instead though as had to bring my wee sister coz they are her favourite band. Would have loved to have seen Groove Armada again though.
