If You Could Transport One Ex-International To The Modern Team Who Would It Be?

Yes this is just an excuse to put up a John Sheridan video

But seriously, what we could do with a player of his talent in the current set up. Almost makes me cry reading how much people feel we need Stephen Ireland, when back in the day we had squad players like Sheridan to call up if needed

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Paul McGrath, a partnership of Dunne and McGrath would be amazing

Also a lot to be said for Denis Irwin, not a flashy player or one to draw the eye but we were always a better team when he played

I'd go with Denis Irwin, we've been struggling to find a left full for a long time, and he's one of the best that ever played in the Premiership

Roy Keane straight away. We have had better players but Roy Keane at his peak would drag this team up and he makes other players play better around him.

The only other person I can think of is Paul Mc Grath.

    Keane, McGrath or Lawrenson.

Purely because we are lacking quality in those departments.

Roy Keane. I would also bring back one of Niall Quinn, Stapleton or Givens. Robbie Keane would score more goals playing alongside one of them.

It would have to be Eddie McGoldrick, we are short of left wingers

I'm not sure if you are joking or not ?

I suspect you may be - funny thing is Eddie was far better than most of the chumps we have today - so not so amusing really.

Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
