The Best in North Tipp a bit of an over statement!!hope ye stay up anyway because know lads putting in alot of effort with the underage teams there now
Two lads retired although they would have been good enough to stay going, our goalie who was our best player and probably the best in North Tipp couldnt commit full-time so hung up the boots and another lad moved to Meath with work.
We have 3 home games against 3 of the teams around us in our last 6, if we win those then we should be safe with our without Kilcommon and their B team.

Maybe but its all subjective, he is definitely the best goalie I played with or against in the 16 years Ive played in North Tipp from school-boys up.
I wouldnt say there are too many standout keepers in North Tipp at the moment, but then Ive havent played in the Premier in about 3 seasons so have lost track.

our keeper is one of the best around, very good to be honest.could play EL if had the interest and ive played with numerous eircom league keepers. The Town youths keeper is top quality, going to very good, he plays few games with their first team.Moneygalls keeper is very good, probably the best shot stopper but he too small which does not help.
Nenagh AFC 2-0 Blackcastle-Munster Junior Cup 3rd round.
Could of been a hell of a lot more too, Nenagh easily dominated the entire game and once the second goal went in Blackcastle didn't look like they wanted to be there at all.
Very impressive performance from town, a really positive display which can be further improved on.
daz22 is right about the keepers aswell, Aidan is a quality keeper for Celtic as is Aaron Savage for Town(I may be biased but he's the best in the league imo and only 18), Ger Corcoran who sometimes plays in goal for Cloughjordan is a fantastic keeper too, and just 20.

i would agree that Aaron Savage is a very good goalie but no where near the best in the league. He seems to make alot of mistakes in the big games, mostly against us at underage level so i think he has a long way to go before he can be called the best!!!!
good win for celtic but performance was very poor. twn snuck it late against blackcastle. as i suggested clough would slip against the lower teams on a few occasions!!great win for ballymackey yesterday in their battle against the drop.Cloughjordan have to beat Nenagh next week to keep their chances alive?????any suggestions?games in next few weeks will make the difference as twn and celtic will be playing MJC and FAI games in the second half of january
Thanks for that dazz, massive win and too be honest I went out thinking we hadnt a hope. But their home pitch is so narrow that it gives a team like ourselves every chance of being able to contain them.
Havent been following what is going on in the Premier too close this season, will let others comment on the run in.
I do find that if you are still in the MJC and FAI cup that you tend to get to play teams later on in the season when they have lost interest / nothing to play for etc.
If Clough are out that may effect them.

Yes that is true to the point that teams have no interest plus teams later in the year lose players to other sports. On the other hand you have teams who are games behind playing 3 times a week to catch up on games. Rumours i hear also is that they are going to split the 2nd division and have a 3rd division next year.good idea i think!
Ya, pitch is so narrow, not good for playing decent football at times because midfield etc very condensed.have ye to play many of the teams around ye. we played borrisokane there a few weeks ago with nearly 3/4 of main starters missing and beat them easily and from what seen of ye , should pick up points against them and kilcommon. we played borrisoleigh ourselves, good side so good win for ye.
Anybody have info on Nenagh AFC.
Are they a strong side this year? Do they like to play the beautiful game or do they likely to rely on their physical strength?
Kinsale lost to Michaels 4-1 last year and will be trying to keep the score more respectable against another strong Tipp side this year.
neangh afc are good side, they will always try and keep the ball on the ground and play football. they are not as strong as last year even though they added to their squad, seems to be problems in their camp this season. they rely too much on two young attacking players(both very good by the way)and will have one weak centre-half. they are a big club with great facilities and are certaintly the biggest club in north tipp but no the best, that title has to go to celtic![]()
Their keeper is prone to mistakes especially in big games, two centre halves have no pace and might start or not with a centre forward who is brilliant in the air and will finish if given half a chance. if get at them they vunerable and not playing that well this year
Thanks for that lads. Hopefully we'll run them closer than we did Michaels last year.
We were playing Moneygal B yesterday in the Tipp Cup, if was 0-0 at full time (should go into extra time) but the ref refused to finish the game saying the pitch wasnt playable.
So basically we ploughed up our own field and then when it was done the ref called the match off.
Surely this cant be right?

dont understand your argument,if the pitch wasnt playable for another 20 minutes of extra time it wasnt playable, this is always at the refs disgression,he obviously felt after 90 minutes the conditions were worsening, hes entitled to stop the game at any point
look if the pitch was not playable , it was not playable. how many games was on your pitch the day before???
Both Nenagh teams had good wins at the weekend i think its a 2 horse race now,any thoughts lads.
No idea, the pitch was fine at the beginning and the weather conditions didnt change in the slightest. It started off lashing rain and at the end it was lashing rain.
Good chance running around a pitch in the lashing rain is going to ruin it, why play a game for 90mins only then to call it off.

Ya seem to be picking up the pace alrite and for us to be underdogs suits us just fine.I hope the league do the right thing and leave the game untill the end of the season and the hopefully both sides keep winning. It would be some finish to the season Town V celtic for the title again.
