    Best Album of....1989

Putting this up 2 days early as the 1988 thread seems to be running out of steam. Those of you that haven't voted in that poll can still do so up until Friday morning however. Same rules apply here, 9 chosen albums, plus 1 other option, put the album you are voting for in as a comment if you are choosing this option. Thread stays up until next Wednesday. Poll for 1990 will be up as soon as the 1988 poll closes

Seen as The Pogues - If I should fall from grace with God isn't there, I'll have to go for The Stone Roses.

I, in contrarian Morgan Tsvangari form, voted Doolittle.

I'm now making honourable mentions of...

    Hup - The Wonderstuff,
    Bizarro - The Wedding Present,
    Beneath The Remains - Sepultura,
    Shibumi - Tuesday Blue

Voted for Stone Roses. A given, really. Can we move onto 1990 please?

Pther is listed too. Nice to see Panthera in there.

Reckon Nine Inch Nails 'Pretty Hate Machine' more than deserves a mention.

The b-52s just missed out on the cut, went with Beastie Boys to give the poll more variety

The Stone Roses - sometimes the obvious choice is the correct one.

Oops, he beat me to the punch, my big protest vote scuppered before it could get going.
Seriously though Jebus, it's a thundering disgrace that the greatest hip hop record of all time is not on the list.

My vote is 'Pther': De La Soul - Three Feet High And Rising.

I was never much of a pixies fan and almost 20 years later the Stone Roses is still a regular visitor to the endabob decks, so it's a virtual no brainer although Neil Young's Freedom was and still is a belter of a record too.

Greatest hiphop album of all time was included in the 1988 poll, and I'm not talking about the NWA here

Good album, but not even Public Enemy's best.
(that being Fear Of A Black Planet)
3 Feet High & Rising is the best hip hop LP ever made, or ever will be made, FACT, simple as, end of, jinks, no come backs.
In my 'umble opinion of course.

    Tom Petty in its place??!!

Bit of an academic discussion though as the Stone Roses will p*ss this one.

Someone, possibly you, questioned Bon Jovi being included in the last one and it's currently getting the bronze medal so you'd never know.

Well actually I do know, Stone Roses will beat Tom Petty's brains out

Stone Roses for me although I also do love that Tom Petty one.
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.

Not me squire, I never question Bon Jovi being included in anything. Kind of a mantra with me. Years ago, maybe, but not any more. Ohooo no! It's just not worth it in the long run. I remem
