So by that rational, he's going to take them up to 3rd in Premier, get them to an FAI semi, then get greedy, spend too much money, bankrupt them, and watch them fall back to 1B a la Dirty Leeds?

So if im reading things right - Dermot Finnan is the first crap junior soccer manager to win 6 FAIs,4 munster juniors, close on 10 premier leagues along with a handful of Touhys, lawsons and whatever other trophy you want to name.
Dont forget also that he went to Park a number of years ago and Gerry Flynn managed Fairview to finish midtable in the league.Dermot came back the next year and they won the FAI for the 4th time.Dermot by his own admission is not a coach nor never will be but in my experience in dealing with him and other managers i have never seen a junior soccer manager as good as him as spotting where things were going wrong on the pitch and making vital substitutions to eliviate this.
And as for ex players not rating him well all ill say is that a number of ex players have tried the job and look how they have done

now your confusing us all? did anyone say he was a bad manager? from reading the thread its the opposite. any club paying a manager to manage and after 4 games bottom of the league with one point should walk away. i ask you this if it were fairview bottom of the premier and beaten in the munster by a 2a side would you still want the manager to manage?
last but not least how and why did he leave fairview

    Question

lads dermots c.v. with the view is unequaled anywhere in the country and given that it begs the question what happened after that,at park, boro, peake villa he had plenty talent available to him but no success and its generally accepted he left those clubs in a worse state than when he arrived, also after winning so much with the view why did he not get the JNR INT job.

Hold on there you cocky git. We've won one, drew one, and been narrowly beaten by 3 strong teams in this division so far, so while we may not be up there with the title contenders, we're no push overs at all. Looking at your great 3 match unbeaten run, you beat Holycross 3-0, we beat them 4-0. You drew with Coonagh, who should have beaten ye, and also drew with Knockainey, who led 3 times if I remember right. So let's see, that gives us, one win, and ye one win. Maths not your strong point then??

because to get the irish junior international job you have to have completed your coaching courses and badges and dermot doesnt have these.
Gerry Smyth is there a long time now.

didn't see pike v holycross but did see them against knockainey and were not impressive. on balance i come down on side of Husteled, bruff have 10 outfielders all comfortable on the ball (all those sessions with the HX underage, am sure you'll agree lads ) , & decent keeper, so should do the biz i think

lads it is a simple as this. Dermot finnan was a very good manager. He was lucky that he had a great squad of players and then won loads with them. Plenty of them went on to higher things. How long now is it since he has won a trophy?
he has been at park for 2 + seasons (1 year was previous) and done nothing. I think . To be in 1b you do not need to be a master technician but you need to get the best out of thwe lads. Dermot was not able to do that. Even some of the good players left as they didn't get on with him.
Give him a big job at a big club with very good players and he will do well. He is not going to get a poor team playing well and promoted. Simple as that.
Davy wall has a job on his hands and you would wonder if he is really interested in it. He left premier football to play/manage 1b at the age of 28????
anyway i wish park all the best for the remainder of the year .

well said ... would agree with point on davy wall personally think he should still be playing preimer .. but now he is with park he might be better just playing rather than the extra pressure involved as manager ,.. but best of luck to him for rest of season
