" football is a simple game "
i'll give you an example of what infuriates me about referees. we played carew park (premier) last year in the FAI. the match was on in Rathbane, the ref was a "Premier" ref. match was 0-0 coming towards half-time, you could see carew getting more and more frustrated at not being able to break us down. our centre half was having a particularly good game marking the carew centre forward. at one stage there was a 50/50 tackle which our centre half won against the carew centre forward. carew player didn't like being tackled, he turned around, in front of the ref, and punched our centre half straight into the face. both players starting wrestling each other on the ground. what did the ref do? he booked our centre half and gave carew park a free-kick. this absolutely enraged our management team as you'd expect, who shouted at the ref. he blatantly ignored the fact that the carew player punched our player. he also gave carew 2 penalties in the second half. we gave up in the 2nd half (playing against 12 men including the ref) and ended up losing 6-1. the ref was afraid to send off any carew player and laughed at us for questioning his decisions. a "Premier" ref? you're avin a laugh

the ref in question is from southill if i'm not mistaken. he was havin great banter with the carew lads before the game even started (and during it). we knew before even going out onto the pitch that he'd give us nothing, especially in rathbane with all their supporters watching. don't get me wrong i've nothing against carew park, but it was an absolute disgrace that morning and the ref was unbelievably biased. we didn't bother reporting him, it was a meaningless match for us. if it had've been a league game then definitely we would've reported him

i've seen fairview once and they looked good. haven't seen murroe but the caherdavin lads said they were a decent side, strong at the back. they've conceded the fewest goals in the division too i think. hard to say who's gonna go up. what about ye pike B, do ye fancy yere chances?

To be honest about it, no. We are about 3 or 4 players short of being a top team in this league, but we should hold our own in the division. If I had to call it I'd say we'll finish between 7th and 10th. But if we get a few new signings who knows, we could go on a run.
