This arguement has been done lads. And I'll say now what I said then. It's all about training and fitness.
There are guys playing Premier who are average footballers, but bust their backsides training and look after themselves. That allows them to play at that level despite not being able to pass a ball 5 yards.
Then in 1A 1B and maybe even a few lower divisions there are a handful of good footballers who if they applied the same work ethic, could easily play Premier.
Its not rocket science in the end. I'd go so far as to say there are 1 to 3 potential Premier players at View B Boro B and even ourselves, Coonagh Park and a few of the country teams. But potential is one thing, application is what counts.

    Anyway, back to this league,
    Caherdavin 2 V 2 Knockainey
    Coonagh 4 V 1 Holycross

well said pike B. Couldn't agree more with you on that one. Played premier myself when i was really really fit. Wouldn't be able for it now. Definitely players playing in lower divisions who have the talent but don't have the interest or motivation. You should try surprise yourself a bit more!!! Some lads playin premier have very little attributes other than stamina and sheer determination

Had half a season Premier with Granville once, and less than that with our A team. Speed of the game is very intense, so a good touch helps but I found that a lot of teams outside Pike Fairview etc, couldn't really play good football. They'd grind it out with a lot of high tempo kick and rush stuff. Terrible to watch but can be effective.
Park are about the only team I've seen in our division keep it on the floor for long periods, and even they have their bad moments.
I heard a bloke on their sideline shout 'no football' a few times near the end of our game with them.
I said it was shocking to their centre half, who shrugged and said' welcome to the Clare league'!!

i watched a good few premier games last season. thought balla played some lovely stuff at times. unreal amount of long ball by the lower sides though. seen a few 1B games this season, i haven't seen pike though. janesboro like to play ball, and fairview play nice stuff. saw park at the start of the season when they were losing all those games and they looked average. caherdavin are handy when they play well, so are knockainey, that'll be a good game on Sunday if it goes ahead

Caherdavin played us on our A pitch, they had a chance to show their stuff as Johnny Giles would say, and they just heaped it forward every time. They were route one merchants.
We try playing right but to be honest we are short about 4 or 5 players in key positions. But we do try.

that surprises me about caherdavin. Maybe they were nervous playin up there! Some of those lads might never have played there. Ye are short 4 or 5? That's half the team man. Not good! If ye beat bruff, holycross and cals i reckon ye will stay up

It's 1b in fairness, teams probably just wanna get up a division then improve trainin n work on the passing aspect.if you're expecting to see an arsenal type passing game in limerick let alone 1b theres only a handfull of teams capable.

Caherdavins home pitch is about as long as pikes home pitch is wide.Thats why they struggled.
