We also travelled out the country this morning for the match to be called off even though they rang LDMC at 7.30 last night to say pitch was unplayable.

Congratulations Shannonman for highlighting this level of inefficiency, and failure to inform the L.D.M.C. about the obvious unplayable condition of this pitch. A phone call from the club to the fixtures man and everyone could have stayed safe at home, on a morning when driving conditions were dangerous.

7.30 on a saturday night is too late for a weather call off what did they use when inspecting the pitch Car or Flood lights?

Well this isn't a go at Croom per say but just the whole policy of what we have been through this season. its a joke. and so frustrating. watching the ref splash in puddles when we could have stayed in bed or trained not to mention losing a saturday night because you cant be sure its gonna be off cause no phone call has been recieved.....argh!!! im taking up swimming...there are plenty of pools around!!

We rang LDMC yesterday at 12.30 (which as plenty of notice ) and were told that all matches stand unless referees call them off. That was after we had 2 pictch inspections 1 early in the morning and 1 at 12 o clock.

Dont know where you got the idea it was too late..... it only takes two phone calls one to the away team and one to the ref to call match off, be it at 3 in the afternoon or 8 at night , as for inspecting the pitch you need to walk on the pitch for bests results and not all pitches are in complete darkness so its not hard to tell if unplayable especially with the rain we got yesterday common sense should have prevailed instead of having sixteen players travelling 30 miles at nine thirty on a sunday morning, last week we also travelled out the country only for no ref to turn up so you could say i am a bit annoyed

thats a very bold statement to make and we are only barely halfway through the season, i am sure there are many teams in contention, thats fairly harsh on the other teams, I'd say you only want a reaction from them?.......

Was anyone at the Charleville v Summerville game yesterday? If so will ye post a quick report. Great win for the ville, did not expect them to get much after the performance against Star the week before.

sounded like a good result alright, what was the pitch like in charleville? i played there last year and i must say it was like a carpet at the time but that was without our all year winter like this time....

good result for the 'ville, tough match but s'ville deserved it, charleville could never really break through on goal. Pitch was in great nick, bit heavy but considering conditions it was in v good condition, didn't really cut up at all. Think S'ville could go on a run after this result

Charleville's pitch is MAGNIFICENT I wish We had something like it at our club
also I still say 7.30 saturday night is too late and two phone calls is not enough to call off a game. If you dont believe me ask someone who has done that job
