I dont condone the use of violence at all weather thats fighting or a late challenge and people need to just learn to get on with it. But lets be honest if a team thinks their being treated unfairly and if what the match reports are to go by they were, then its very hard for guys to accept..

Its all a learning curve for me mate, only been in it for year and half, and now i'm really enjoying it. Have learned alot and got great advice from refereein all levels and will look forward to using these if i get the opportunity to do top games... dont worry you'll see me around for years especially as my wife has hid my passport

Thats different and i agree with that but players shouldn't have the right to use decisions as a right to fight thats all im saying

Jock, not tryin to justify it…violence is wrong anywhere, nevermind on a football field…but where does the ref start to take accountability and responsibility? A Charleville supporter (one who didn’t run in) was laughing at the start of extra time, sayin that Pallas should have been 3-0 up playing against a ten man Charleville. Then Charleville no.6 punched their left back…time for the referee to get the red out!…didn’t happen…then in the middle of the handbags, no.10 waded in with a punch on the pallas centre half…I think that was the last straw for the Palestinians…no justice in the game itself, and now no justice when punches were thrown…and the melee broke out! I don’t care what happens but if it was my team getting dumped out of the munster junior when we had played by far the better football, then I’d be incensed as well…if you cared about fairness, consistency and proper competition…you’d have to be incensed. Heres a question, theres a way to deal with players who step over the line, what happens to the (blatant hometown decisions) referee? Nothing. Theres no appeals process, it gets brushed under the carpet, and gets talked about in pubs for months afterwards.
And don’t say this too loud, cos they’ve beaten us already, this Pallas team can play football, and I tip them for promotion to 1B, if suspensions don’t wreck them. Yeah they’re physical, but all the better teams can mix the physical and the football. And there was nothing wrong with the way they played against Charleville…they were on the ropes for most of the game…but that referee?!? I’ll be dreading a trip to Charleville if we were to have the same ref!

All i will say Football Fan as a former player,

players need to learn the line between Frustration and Abuse & Violence.

Its simply a choice of the player if they want to cross it or control themselves and try other means to vent it, and if the decide to cross it then it no one elses fault than there own.

...and still the question is unanswered. Whats the refs role in this, and who is he answerable to? I'll say it again, dont condone violence in any walk of life, especially on the football field. For example if you take law enforcement out of society, and the gardai arent there to enforce law and order to a just and equitable degree...what are you left with? Absolute chaos! Potential is the same on a football field, you take the law maker out (or in this case a crooked ref) what will you be left with???

dont actually know, but whether he got it wrong on purpose or got it wrong because of sheer incompetency, it doesnt matter....though it looked like a blatant case of taking sides. Had to be seen to be believed!

...For example Jock, if you had called all those decisions as described above, between any 2 teams, nevermind Pallas and Charleville, wheteher you did it out of incompetence or blatant favouritism, would you expect to walk off the field without at least a major protest?? theres bound to be ruptions for that kind of decision making...!

A referee role is to officiate a match under his or her interpretation of the Laws of Soccer (everybody is human so won't be the same all the time) he or she is only answerable to his or her branch,

A players role is to play the game in the manner and conduct that it was designed to be played in.

Its for your club to report to the LDMC any incidents you feel should be reported (not for the players to have a mass maul on a pitch) thats what they are there for and then they will act in your behalf.

Now i'm not saying anymore on this subject.

Cause your point is i need to think about my decisions from now on cause i might cause a mass brawl in the future.
Not going to happen... END OF

No. Any referee can get a decision wrong. Granted. Referees are human, like you say after all. But when a ref gives 4 to 5 match turning decisions in single 90 mins to the hometown, or his favoured club. Then, by your argument, players are human too and are prone to human reactions like rage and anger when something unjust has happened and there is no fair governing authority. People hit out in all walks of life when things arent fair, why should a football field be any different under these extreme refereeing decisions? Now, Jock, we can agree to differ, because we have different opinions, and thats a human characteristic too. End of. Good decisions dont need to be thought about, they are just made.

Football fan referee's are getting decisions wrong in the English premier league on a weekly basis but they still get to ref every week and for lots of money,we play amateur soccer with amateur referee's and every ref will make mistake's,if a ref though he shouldnt play because he might get a decision wrong then we'd have no ref's.

very true. But I'm Not talking about refs making wrong decisions occasionally, that has to be expected, refs, we will agree are human. But what I'm talking about is blatant, uncontestable and obvious decisions made by a hometown referee in favour of the hometown, made over and over again in the same match. I'm not talking about a situation where refs should be thinking and questioning every move they make, cos they dont need to be doing that if they make the obvious right and correct decisions. we are not talking about ONE decision here...oh never mind, can we change the subject?

FootballFan what position do you play for Pallas? Ask the Mungret lads what they thought of Pallas the week before the Charleville game!
