Potentially very good, if they do things right with low prices, kids free and giveaways to schools etc plus decent advertising.....

It will minimum of 20k to be any kind of success.
I'm not sure if the October bank holiday (i'm sure thats when scheduled?) is a help or a hindrance.
I wouldn't have much interest as an eL neutral to go to Tolka but be much more inclined to go to Landsdowne cos can get ticket on the day.
Final badly needs a non-dub team to be a success attendance wise cos no dublin clubs besides Pats seem capable of any decent number of fans.

Agree about non Dub teams. They have far more scope for daytrippers and every club left could get a massive crowd. Lansdowne helps attract these sort of people

to work though i do think you'd need a non-dub team to help with the numbers, if Macy's ideas were also added you could have a great attendance. I hope they promote it properly.
Final in Lansdowne
Did anyone hear anymore about the FAI cup Final being played in Lansdowne. I hope it is as the domestic final deserves a big venue.
I don't think this decision has been made yet. There is no information on the FAI site.

The semi-final draw for the FAI Carlsberg Cup will take place at 4:00 pm in the Mont Clare Hotel on Thursday afternoon as the Cup final returns to Lansdowne Road.
UCD manager Pete Mahon and Bray Wanderers boss Pat Devlin – who were in opposite dug outs in one of the most famous Lansdowne finals when St Francis took on Bray in 1991 – will make the draw which will be broadcast on RTE's Six-One news.
The two semi-finals are sure to be intriguing contests with Galway United, Longford Town and St Patrick's Athletic all producing wonderful football on their way to the semi-final stages, while Bohemians and Drogheda United will fight it out for the last semi-final spot on Tuesday evening in a replay at Dalymount Park.

Great to see the FAI cup final is back in Lansdowne Rd. Lets hope they get a good Crowd.
Hopefully the FAI will use some good marketing ploys for it and maybe give away free tickets to the schools.
Anybody else think it would be a good idea to play the cup final in the evening.
I always think games have better atmosphere under lights. Probably RTE will have the final say on timing though.
Maybe if it was going to be an all Dublin final but fans travelling from Longford or Galway will make a day of it and I'm sure that involves families with kids travelling. I don't know how they'd feel about having a late kick-off.
Mind you, in late October it gets dark pretty early.
