    petition tonite

lets get this done tonite and hand it tp purcell after the game. The full backing of LFC SC is essential. This can be done tonite - time for the muppets to leave.
the wording of the petition should be very precise and clear.

A petition mighn't be a bad idea. However as you point out the wording will have to be exact. Also the SC would really need to go over it with their members. Are you coming to the game this evening? We could meet up and thrash it out, and if everyone is in agreement we could set it in motion, collect names around the town and bring it to the next game.

handing over a petition tonight would not be substansial enough. I believe that a larger petition amassed over a period of time (short time) and sent to all press, national and local is the way. We have to make the ordinary soccer fan who does not know about the despotical, tyrannical manner the club is being run in aware of whats going on, and letting them know the names of the individuals involved. Then when the media start asking them(committee) questions, we'll see how the mighty answer. I'm on pretty good terms with a soccer writer from the indo, and also know people on the eleven-a-side and soccercentral websites. The Limerick post will be good to us, as will the local radio, and I believe that the Limerick leader will too if a proper journalist apart from John O'Waffle is involved!!
Let's embarrass them publicly...after all the club is supposed to be for the public!!

    Question

Collecting names around town is an excellent idea. A lot of Limerick people care about the club and feel disenfrancised by the action of people in the past.

We the undersigned believe that in order to facilitate the progressive running of LCFC the current unelected committee must put themselves forward for election by a duly constituted membership. We believe membership should be open to all who have an interest in the well being of LCFC.
We insist that the committee imediately open membership and assemble an AGM as soon as possible afterwards.

I will discuss this tonight with the rest of the guys at the game. Good ideas here guys - I definitely think we should try to make it more public by handing it to papers, etc, and using public shaming to instigate the neccessary changes. Should we name the committee members on the petition?

    I think so too, but be sure to name the whole committee, not the selected few that are causing us the most problems.Outline the problems, and also what we intend, as a group of concerned supporters, to do about the current shambles. I think we should call the petition PLEASE;
    P preserve
    L limericks
    E existence
    A as a
    S soccer
    E entity.

Great idea, Norma Prendiville is who you want in the Leader. Removing the committee goes beyond the sporting pages as its also a social and community issue. Its a controversial issue aswell, so she'd be only too glad to report on it.

Radio is the key though, i'd go even further and contact the Gerry Ryan show etc - Its exactly the type of case they like to cover and that would kick start the national coverage. The Star would definately cover the story too once they know of the clubs plight fully. It's the only way.

Thanks for these contacts. I think everyone is finally seeing that this will have to be made a national issue. Public shaming (or the threat of it) is the key to implementing the neccessary changes needed.
