    Irish Soldiers in Chad

Wille O'Dea travels to support the troops

Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea started a three-day visit to Chad this morning despite shooting incidents involving Irish troops on Saturday.

No Irish soldiers were injured in the weekend clashes and the minister decided to go ahead with his visit even though the situation in the area where the Irish are stationed is described as calm but tense.

The full battalion of 400 Irish soldiers took up position in Chad in the past few weeks.
Good to see the EU lead UN mission in operation & Ireland heavily involved. Apparently the Rangers have come home & air support from the French not working so well (failed to spot rebel convoy heading towards the Irish)

I am sure the Minister will show those rebels how its done.

Hopefully they'll give him another pistol to play with, and keep him over there.
