    Footbo?

www.footbo.com is a site ive only just come accross thanks to Guillem Balague pointing out that he writes a blog for it. Its apparently the 'bebo' of football and I was impressed that it had eircom league clubs and players on it despite it being relatively new, anyway i thought id let the users here know of its existence if they dont already and if anyone knows any cool things you can do with the site let us know.

Wow, massive user base in Ireland.

    18 members.

I don't really get the point of the site at all to be honest.

It's not a bad idea in the sense of getting football fans from all around the world to talk about their respective leagues, but at the moment its just a tacky bebo-esque version of football. If it was part like bebo part like this site it could be good.

I like the predictions thing though. It would be nice if it was extended to the LOI aswel, but not likely to happen i'd say.

    there 23 users now.

I dont think its too bad. Looks relatively new (there only 36 users from France, 44 from Germany) so it has potential to be interesting.

The more Irish users, particularly ELOI users the better, try help promote the league across Europe a little!

We should all e-mail them asking to them include ELOI. Its all about Supply & Demand!

“As this is a site for you fans out there, we appreciate your feedback! Write us your input and suggestions and contribute to making this the world's best football site ever.”

Thats a good point one I was trying to make in a roundabout way but you've hit the nail on the head, I thin the purpose of a site like this should be for people like us to share our great league with others and for them to share their experiences with us.

Looks decent enough. I see that the Bohs page carries headlines from the official site, which is clever on their part, and helpful for the club.

I suppose it'll be as good as people make it, but it's an opportunity to get the eL message out there.

You can edit that in yourself. I did the same yesterday for Cork City.

Yeah, the only thing is, everything seems to be just as editable. If I wanted, I could change Bohs to have been founded in 2001 and supply a news feed from Ann Summers.com

But if you aren't logged in, it shows the default, surely? I haven't gotten around to registering, and so I can't change things, or at least I think I can't.

You tell me! If the Cork City page shows updates from corkcityfc.ie and the foundation date as 1984, then I, no more than a registered user, was able to change these for everyone. A bit like wiki, but without the watchdogs.

You made me go on a Cork City page.

I tried to edit it but it asked me for a login.

You have to be logged in to edit something and by the looks of things, anything you do edit your name comes up beside it as the last to edit it. So if you go messing around with it people will know it was you.

It is in a way its the only draw back if people start messing around with it like wiki but is handy for editing your stuff.
There would be nothing about Kilkenny City on it otherwise!!

Its good to most of the Irish users sporting their ELOI clubs too.

    I take back that comment.

    I think it's a really good site.

Hope it gets of the ground.

i've signed up to this, it could be really good if lots of people join it. I wonder how long before the little chavvy "schooligans" hijack it though?

2nd fan of Longford Town F.C. The schooligans tend to jump onto any bandwagon so I'm not going to spread the word just yet..

I like the website but your right how long until they hear about this site. The only thing about it is I hope some of them chavvy schooligan dumba**es dont get on and start messing up and editing players profiles. e.g A younger Man United fan could do a profile for Steven Gerrard knowing them they could edit his profile andsay hes the biggest w*nker in football. But anyone could do it though.

they'll probably have to restrict the wikis a bit. Although i think they can tell who edited it so they can hand out bans
