I believe this was mooted before by people on this board, but, do the great committee listen....?????Pity such a friendly couldn't be arranged for Limerick FC - I'm sure Sam would have helped us out. Wonder was he approached? Was he f uck.
Our old mate Sam Allardyce is bringing Bolton to the Cross on Sept 3rd for a friendly according to the city website.

I am going to be away for the game - any Cork based Limerick fans plan on going? Putting out a Limerick flag at the game would I am sure be very welcome by Sam.

I'll prolly try and go down alright.
Derek Whyte has already brought up this point to Michael O'Sullivan and I'm constantly being told that Sam and Billy Kinnane are good buds as well! It probably could have been arranged had the effort been made I think.
The ball is round and has many surprises.
I was actually at a committee meeting where Billy Kinnane said he would talk to Sam about it.
What happened?

AFAIK, the game is NOT Cork City v Bolton Wanderers. Seemingly it's a (somewhat belated!!!) testimonial for Karl 'The Dav' Davenport who played briefly with Bolton before coming to to Ireland and playing with Hibs, Celtic, ?Pats etc...in the 60s + 70s...The Dav woulda been a contemporary of Wiggie, Bacuzzi, Miah, Ludzik, Shortie, Chopper Brooks, Postman McCarthy, Bobby Tambling etc etc...
It must be some sort of selected team v Bolton...
