    USA 0-0 Argentina

Good game despite the lack of goals. Tim Howard was outstanding for the US. Was also impressed with the US's left full back, Pierce I think. Ref was a clown and almost ruined the game, in front of 78 thousand plus at Giants Stadium. Sent off a US player for no reason at all. Never seen anything like it.

    Match Report.

Saw it on web tv, it was a very open game, Messi was incredible especially right at the start of the first half. Howard made some great saves too, I remember a great double save he did from Julio Cruz near the start.

I was impressed by the US, especially Jason Donovan. He marshalled their play very well. Adu didn't look that impressive, but the other guy Edu (?) looked decent as did Eaving Johnson (the little fella at Fulham). I saw the Paolo Maestroeni red card too and have no idea how it happened, the Spanish commentary was a bit too fast so I couldnt pick it up. Also was Mascherano sent off ? The connection went just as he got what I thought was a second yellow... ?

Argentina look like a world class team and bear in mind a few domestic players were omitted due to club commitments (the likes of Riquelme, Damian Escudero and Augustin Orion - good goalie were all in action for the last club game of the season). Certainly any team that has such a plesant dilemma in terms of attacking options (all of whom are young) is a force to be reckoned with and if justice prevails I expect them to do serious damage to many a team in WC 2010.

Was at the game, it was good crack and overall a good 0-0 friendly game. Mastroeni's second yellow was for kicking the ball away when it was Argentina's free kick. US had a few chances, hit the cross bar. Howard made a few great saves. Very hot and humid, everyone cheered when it was thundering and lightening followed by a torrential downpour. Both teams are getting ready for upcoming WC qualifiers.

One thing I'll say is that it was high lunacy to have Argentina playing in white and sky blue and the USA playing in white... what's the point of having away kits ?

looks as though Basile has been tinkering with the Argentine formation whilst in the States so as to overcome the Brazilian problems they encountered in the Copa America final last time around when the Argies were beaten against all odds.

Big one against Brasil (WCQ) coming up on 18th June.
