A number of Irish referees have received prestigious appointments for UEFA Cup and European Under 21 Championship qualifiers in the coming month.
Irish referees have been awarded two European Under 21 Championship clashes in early September with Hugh Byrne officiating Italy's encounter with Wales while Paul McKeon will take charge of Bosnia's clash with Norway.
Byrne will be accompanied to Italy by assistant referees, Eddie Foley and Dave Wogan, and fourth official Ian Stokes, while Paul McKeon will be accompanied by Martin Molony, JP Kelly and Dave McKeon.
Before then, Cork official Alan Kelly will referee an Under 21 friendly in Sweden in mid-August meaning that three Irish officials will take charge of Under 21 games in the coming three weeks.
Kelly will also be busy this week as he travels to Prague to officiate the UEFA Cup first round first leg clash between Viktoria Zizkov and Zhenis while Paul McKeon is in Malta for Birkirkara's clash with Turkish side Ferencvaros.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
