Finnan is past his best. Last season he struggled.
Always look on the bright side of life
Still the best right full we have though
Dont agree about Finnan's form last season. He had a couple of wobbly games which is all Benitez needed to justify dumping him in favour of another expensive Spanish mediocrity. Finnan's delivery into the box is second to none at Anfield. think he should move on as hois face clearly does not fit. Benitez has made three attempts to replace him and has to reluctantly bring him back when the likes of Josemi, Kronkamp etc prove to be utterly useless. If he is willing to come back then he should be picked.
If the current Irish team as a whole looked like they gave as much a cr@p about the team as prior Irish teams or like the current Croatian team do Id be more than happy, even if they were unsuccessful. Remember the team in 2002 almost to a man in tears after the exit to Spain, how many of our players were looked like they were really that bothered by the failures of the last few campaigns????
Degen didn't even get into the Swiss team during the Euro Finals. He's no Finnan. No need to worry about him from an Irish perspective.
My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method, is love. I love you Sheriff Truman.
Accoring to Trapattoni, he has convinced Finnan to return to international football: http://newstalk.ie/newstalk/news/110...an-return.html
Arbeloa apparently wants a move back to Spain for personal reasons, and with both Degan and Darby looking hopeless in pre-season he might be staying at Liverpool after all. Wonder how that would affect his decision to play international football?
It now looks like Degen is set to miss a minimum of two months with calf surgery. Increasingly likely that Finan will stay at Anfield.
finnan is still good enough to play 30+ league games a season
