To begin, we on the
FORAS board would like to apologise for the lack of information on the progress of the Trust. The concept of Foras and our desire to implement it remain strong. However, for a variety of reasons, both personal and professional, we have not been able to devote sufficient time to FORAS in recent months.
We have noticed an increase in update requests and have observed increased uncertainty among supporters with regard to finances within both Cork City FC and the Eircom League Of Ireland as a whole. Well publicised issues at clubs including Waterford United, Cobh Ramblers and Galway United remind us all how precarious life within the league we support can be.
The purpose of this statement at tonight's CCOSC Monthly meeting is to reiterate that FORAS has not gone away nor has the need for the Trust been reduced. We also recognise that the need for regular communication to those who would support FORAS is vital.
In the coming weeks, information will flow more readily as we ready for launch and on the announcement of the identity of the new CEO of Cork City FC, representatives of FORAS will be seeking a meeting to discuss matters of concern to us all.
In the meantime, we will happily deal with any requests you have to
forastrust(at)gmail.com.
Regards,
Foras Board Members.

Since this statement was submitted, the Evening Echo has run a story naming the club's new CEO as Pat Kenny. Once this is formally announced by the Cork City FC, we will seek to sit down with Mr.Kenny and introduce him to the concept and merits of Foras and ascertain whether the openess to investment in the club expressed by Aidan Tynan remains in place.
