Tough draw longford are having a solid season in the premier, limerick will need to be a full strength for this one but are good enough to go there and get a draw and bring them back to pike and beat them and from there who know's?

Would've preferred a home draw against anyone. Maybe the best result would be to get them back to the Pike.

    It will be hard though.

It's a disastrous draw, probably the worst one we could have got. Longford are a decent side, and I don't hold out much optimism for a positive result. They've got a pretty good defence, and have got some good results lately, hammering Derry, drawing with Bohs and Rovers and Cork away in their last 4 games.Plus they don't get fantastic crowds, a cup-tie like this will probably attract 1000 max so the gate receipts will be pretty scant also. Still...it's cup football so anything can happen...remember wycombe wanderers...

Jaysus, Joe I thought the fine weather might have shifted that dark cloud but there it is, still.

    Smile

    I know, I know.....help....prozac, valium, anything!!!!
I seriously do believe its the worst we could have got, along with UCD or Drogheda. These are teams that in reality would beat us 8 times out of 10 at the moment, and we're not going to get a big killing on the gate a la bohs os St Pats who get great support no matter who they're playing.Still that does leave my theory with a 20% chance of success, so here's to some potentially happy days!!!

    clouds gone

LFCIE, the clouds gone...I've just looked at the Longford forum, and I can smell the fear....plus I never knew that Spillkenny actually knocked them out last season....C'mon the Blues....get a draw, a decent gate, good gate at home, and hammer the midlands bastrads!!!!

1-1 up there, 1-1 and a win on penalties at Pike would do me fine. John Whyte to stick in the last peno and stick it to the detracters who slaughtered him after one bad game (Dublin City). Smells like heaven.

I still want Skerries in the quarters though!
The ball is round and has many surprises.

agreed...I think we'll get a 1-1 up there...love to see Carthy banging in the winning peno though in the replay, his confidence seems to need a little boost.
