Limerick will be in FAI Cup action away to Longford on this coming Saturday.

The game will get under way with an 8.00 p.m. kick-off.

If a replay is required it will be on Monday 18 August at Pike Rovers Sports Grounds. The kick-off time will be 6.00 p.m.. It would be necessary to start this early as a result must be achieved on the night and the game could go to extra time and a penalty shoot out.

On the playing front Stephen O Flynn is still out and unfortunately for Garreth Cooney, who has been very influential for Limerick FC to date, he has damaged the cruciate ligmants in his knee and as a result he is likely to be out of the game for the rest of the season. If the game goes to a replay, Limerick FC will also be without the services of Stephen O Mahoney who will be away on International duty with the Republic of Ireland U-19 team in Norway. He is one of 3 Eircom League players in the panel.

The 1-0 home win over Monaghan last Thursday was a particularly good result for the home team as it keeps the club in fifth place with every possibility of making the top four playoffs. Derek McCarthy heading home from a Ross Gosgrave cross in a good hard fought game with the visitors.
