jonathon rhys meyer that was in 'Bend it like Beckham' is a cork boy.
Fiona Shaw, brilliant actress (harry potters' aunt) is too.
i'm sure some scots would be aware of Niall Tobin.

i think Sean o'riada was from Cork.

can't think of a single writer.
mainly sports people and musicians that keep popping into my head.

Frank O'Connor has world wide fame as a short story writer, rated by many authorities as the absolute tops in that particular genre, and is possibly the city's best-known author.

Hows about the nest big thing in Irish acting Circles, Killian Murphy of Disco Pigs fame and in that movie late last year, 28 days later?

Its amazing that from sucjh a small City in real terms the amount of famous people we have produced.

Also im surprised Rory gallagher isny mentioned (I know he aint really from Cork, but he is an adopted citizen).

Who else, well theres Patsy Freyne, Bill O Herlihy, Eanna. Too many to mention really!

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
