In fairness to Dodge, Pats let both Philip Hughes and Philip Sheppard go and they both went on to score bagfuls of goals in Division 1, but neither is good enough for a title challenging premier side. So it's not just a matter of improvement, but also of finding their level.
Flood I would rate higher than Hughes or Sheppard mind you.
Flood has improved at a crazy rate since he came to us. Think Keely had found a way to get the best out of him. I'm not convinced he can bang the goals in in the PD either but hopefully we'll find out next season![]()
that really is amazing how an accident on holiday just totally wiped out a very promising career!!
I must admit to totally forgetting about this man until an hour ago. He was a very good player indeed but I'd say he is finished for good, you just never know though ........................
he did pre season last year with Carlisle but hasnt been heard of since until Sheridan resurrected him.

[QUOTE=DRDoc;946208]Is Doyle out of contract marty? I thought it ran til end of season?
doyle is under contract till the end of the season. mind you he got his place back last nite and had one of his best games in the shirt for us...
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

The ONLY foot.ie user with a type of logic named after them!
All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
Hmmm, beating you guys had long ceased being embarrassing for anyone at that stage. More like a formality. But maybe you're on about something else.
A formality? I don't think the results bear that out. Its amazing how quickly another stint back in the lower leagues for shels clouds your memories! The first division needs a strong shelbourne, it hasn't been the same since you last got promoted out of it! Lets hope you can keep the first division strong for another few years!
Thomas Stewart to Derry from Linfield is another rumour
Stuart Byrne to Bohs.
Also, Chris Turner, Thomas Heary, Harpal Singh, Michael McGinlay and Darren Mansaram all could be leaving.
Heary won't be fit until probably late July, he'd be a bad signing IMO. Anto Murphy is a better player in those roles and Heary is too expensive for a back-up. I think Mansaram would be a good acquisition for anyone, especially Sligo. Wouldn't be letting him go at all, he's a good player to have on the bench.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.
wouldnt take him back. when your contracted to Sligo Rovers FC and you go to watch a Bohs game when your supposed to playing a football match in Bray, thats when the respect just goes out the window. Personally i have no respect for Darren, and even if he was to sign for us, i still wouldnt.
