Fascinating game - but to paraphrase Dunphy, is it not amazing that the real chess match in this game, the real battle is between Scholes / Carrick and Hargreaves and Ballack / Lampard / Essien

ie nothing to do with the hairdresser

6 proper players - proper midfielders and looking at this, Chelsea have a slight egde.

The question is whether the blouse can string a decent 90 minites together while being tightly marked to overcome the rough and tumble ball up to DD

Tough one to call but I'd say Chelsea have the edge just about, but only if Essien starts in midfield. He's a fantastic player who will be the best player on the park if he plays in his proper position. And this will allow Ballack to push forward and do what he does best.

There's a real sense of steel about the Chelsea team recently. I'd say 1-0 to Chelsea, Drogba with the winner, ala the Cup Final last year

I think Chelsea will edge it, they are the better team and would have won the league too if it wasn't for Mourihno's poor start to the season

Ronaldo is not a central midfielder like Scholes or Carrkc or Ballack or Essien. He is a winger. Therefore his strong points will not be the strong points of the aforementioned players and vice versa.

The fair comparison with Ronaldo is Cole, Malouda and Kalou etc. Now he is so much better than they are and Ronoldos, finishing is up there with Drogba and Torres.

Why Dunphy and others try to compare Ronaldo with Scholes etc is mind boggling.

Hopefully UEFA will call off the final to forestall the inevitable crowd trouble, and neither team will win.

As somebody once said to me, you are missing the wrong point. I am not trying to compare him with Scholes et al but I am comparing the likelihood of his influence on the game verus the 6 people I mentioned, despite the hype around this plonker.
