How serious is a fibula break (if that indeed is the diagnosis) in terms of making a full and speedy recovery?

"We lost because we didn't win"- Ronaldo
He's definitely out for the rest of the season at the very least. The poor guy, finally Trap picked him in a competitive fixture and then he goes and breaks his leg a wet week later.
It's our LB jinx striking again,
Jim Beglin, Cunningham, O'Halloran and Stephen Ward live.

Who says 3 months? No way. Sorry to be pessimistic but no way.
No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
Looked pretty nasty to me, I was wincing watching it, I did mine a few year back in a similar fashion, basically got my foot trapped
and went over on it with my own weight. I imagine it will have mangled up his ankle ligaments somewhat.
Foot has never been 100% since that, bit like I have 2 left feet, but that's not a big problem for a defender.
It's not the main load bearing bone though, more for balance. They took my cast off after 5-6 weeks but I was still
walking around like a cripple for a good while., It is still a bit discoloured now.

Absolutely gutted for him and for us. Terribly unlucky. Get well soon.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
looks inoculous enough on the video above, devastating for the lad though. Its a cruel world sometimes is football.
I dunno, from one angle you can see his he seems to over on his ankle every awkwardly, I don't think it's the contact
I think the bone breaks under his own weight because of the huge stresses put on it. Those same forces will have gone through his foot and
ankle ligaments and will not do either any good.
One a side note he was out top rated available player on one stat site, but Trap does not usually play them even if they are
available
From our perspective, if it is to happen, it has happened at a decent time. Its almost five months until our next competitive game. If the guy could be back training in February then he could well be in contention for Sweden away. Have no clue about what the anticipated recovery time is but wish him well.
i just hope cunningham gets his chance now.
What about Aidan White of Leeds? Better player than Cunningham?
Cunningham is still recovering from injury, isn't he? He'd hardly be around for the Greece game.
The ball is back to Ward and apart from ability to stroke the ball, he's no more a defensive danger than Wilson.
Judging by how the Faroes turned Wilson to jelly, with him giving away silly free kicks and not defending for their goal.
It has to be worth taking a look at White. Even just for half an hour.
