Posts on a pompey forum to much the same effect praising how good Wilson has been with Kaboul all season. Definitely sounds like a solid reliable option.

Is he looking like a prospect for the future? What is his preferred position? Centre half or Centre Mid?

Has played most of the season at centre back alongside Kaboul. Has also played right back & right midfield for Pompey.

He's 22, playing regular Premiership football and can be used in a number of postitions. I think he's exactly the type of player Trap should be looking at next year.

Hopefully there will be a B international for Marc to get a run out.

Paul Hart has just been sacked as Pompey manager, so it is difficult times for the club. It will be interesting to see who the new man is to be. Hopefully Marc can impress him enough to get regular game time.

Although only 22, Marc has already played under Harry Redknapp, Tony Adams & Paul Hart at portsmouth, so he is somewhat used to change by now.

I don't think Hart being sacked is a good thing for Wilson, but then again I said the same thing when Adams was sacked.

Hopefully he can keep his place in the side, as he could be a good option for us in the near future. We could even slot him in at right-full and have O'Shea move over to left-full.

For the last time, O'Shea cannot play left full back!

Have a chat with Ferguson about it. He can play anywhere across the back four.

This isn't to say he's equally good all across the back four.

    I'd say he's a very good centre-back, a solid right full, and a passable left-full.

When's the last time he played left full?

You make a fair point, but considering he broke into the Man Utd team as a left-full, to say he "isn't a left-full" doesn't seem an appropriate response.

John O'Shea is known foremost for his versatility and can be a decent left-full for us if we have strong players in other positions.

75 mins into the game -v- Burnley today, and for me Wilson has been fantastic in defence.

He's looked extremely calm and composed and has made some very important blocks and tackles, especially when Portsmouth were stretched today.

    Great to see it.

I agree, he was solid today. Some real tests coming up for him as Pompey's immediate fixture list is daunting

I would expect Wilson to be in the squad for the European Championship qualifying campaign.
