Leixlipred has a very simplistic notion of life. Some people have work commitments they can't get out of. Some people have commitments for the rest of the week, and, as blobby says with a family something has to give.
Why wasn't I there? Well with a sick wife and three young kids I decided my priorities lay elsewhere. I guess I'm just not "hardcore".
[EDIT] Actually I know I'm not hardcore. I was at the last home match. I will probably be at the next home match. These days that's as far as my commitment goes.

As I said, if you have family commitments that's fine. But beyond that you should be making every effort to go to games. Otherwise you might not have a club to support. And I don't have a perfect attendance record myself but I make every effort to get to the maximum amount of games I can a season.
Lads!! Have you really let your assistant manager go to save on money for players ???
Is this serious ?
What next, will the physio only go to every second game? Do the players wash their own jerseys ? Sure why not sack the manager and get one of the players to fill in the team sheet as player manager!
Really,,, what way is that to deal with a financial mess ?
You don't have a home game now for weeks. If you are trying to avoid the 65% rule you should be looking towards a few of the players as soon as the transfer window comes around.
I can't believe you're letting the assistant manager go to save money!
Crazy

Yes, you are right. At the start of the 2007 season we signed all those players. Look back through my post history on here to see that I was saying since the day I joined this site that we were in trouble financially. I was talking about when Ollie was finally forced to step aside and others were in charge that we started to put silly things like that behind us. I'm not taking the moral high ground. But you are as you do love to do.
In fairness, it's not the die-hard go to every game fans that will keep the club alive - they don't even consider that they have a choice whether to go or not. The people we need to get in the gate are the ones who aren't sure whether to watch Eurovision or football for the night - we need to convince them that watching Utd is a better use of their time than watching dustin being pushed around a stage in a shopping trolley.
You have a valid point about people who care about the club making as many games as possible though, but I'd hate to see a situation where people are put off the club by attitudes from other fans - you know the ones who assume that unless you go to every home, away and reserve game you don't have a right to support the club. Waterford need to (somehow) create a sense of ownership of the club within the city and surrounding area, quite frankly it's embarrassing that the biggest crowd of the year in the RSC turned up for a junior game.
Foot.ie's entire existence is predicated on the average idiot's inability to ignore other idiots
Why don't you read the story before going off on one? Just a suggestion. Might save your typing finger.
Sean Francis stepped down of his own accord. It was an unsolicited offer from a very genuine guy made at a time when he knew more than most how much the club were struggling. One of the current backroom team will step up to take the assistant manager role. We're not going to not have one.
Quite how you've made it out to somehow be the club's decision I can't fathom, but never fear, your incredulity is duly noted and passed on to them. I don't know how they've endured this long without it.
more bass
Yeh and you should go back to your sad little life telling people what they can and cannot do. You ignore the fact that in my next post I admitted we were in financial trouble long before that. But of course it's convenient to ignore that for the sake of a dig at Shels. The sooner we're back in the PD beating you guys 3 times a year the happier I'll be.
Thanks for the mention Stu!!
Wish I was you

The story was he offered to resign.
I imagine the Board of Management said,, yeah ok ??
Was he there in the first place for a reason or just making up numbers???
If he was doing a good job and worth the money why get rid of him!!! You think this won't have an effect on your team?
