the city game is very acheivable, ill do that (joke i aint doin it)

its not that hard to organise, but a supporters club is suppose to subsidise travel to games, in order to help supporters get to games, it wouldn't be hard to designate an area in the ground for the home games so you go up to whoever is at the table and pay a deposit for the next away game (deposits are non-refundable) then you organise a suitable size bus,

    its not rocket science,
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Then ask how many have actually travelled to an away game from the SC?..........There would be about 5 hands up, all freebies on the team bus!

How do you know this?? Personally I would have no problem if people from the Sc were travelling on the team bus, they are giving up their free time for the betterment of the club and deserve it IMO.
SC have organised buses in the past but have been let down on numerous occasions by people withdrawing at the last minute leaving the Sc to pick up the shortfall.
The Sc have bailed the club out time and time again in the past and the new stand would not exist were it not for them. They are not a secret organisation, their committee is listed in the programme, you all know who they are so ask for a membership from and join up.
Finally, I can remember the Sc organised a bus to Dundalk last august with the clear instruction that no-one under the age of 18 could go unless accompanied by an adult. On the morning a lot of unaccompanied teens turned up which left the Sc in an awkward position, rather than turn them away as they could have done they allowed them travel but unfortunately had to babysit them for the day. I know that the part of the bus they were in was left in an awful condition after the journey with the Sc having to pick up the cleaning tab.
I am not in the Sc but was on the bus that day and I can verify for the behaviour of these 'people', so I'm sure you can understand the SC reluctance to fund buses for these people when they have a major financial undertaking to worry about. Rant over.

What you say is all well and good Comic Book Guy, but to be perfectly honest with you I'm of the personal opinion that they SC should indeed be organising or at least be seen to try to organise and offer the opportunity of a bus, be it big or small, to all away games. As Don Ramo says, it's not rocket science. They have the availability of their own section on the official site as a way of notifying people and it's not been used once yet. Placing a list of all away matches in the club house with an X next to the games they'd like to organise busses for isn't that difficult. I suggested this before the season got underway. Using the MC at the halftime interval at home games is another available option.

Someone from the SC really ought to make a statement of some sort regarding away travel arrangements, or that they won't be doing any. At least then people would know where they stand regards getting to games. If members of the SC are here and don't want to be identified then forward an email to me and I'll put it on the official site for them.

Our buses are not run byt the supporters club. Just run by City fans seperately.

When the Supporters club gets involved they have to be careful about insurance and liability were anything to happen

Hi guys, don't want to be seen as sticking my nose in, but why not get another Supporters Club up and running. I know at Harps there are at least four or five supporters Club. One in Ballybofey/Stranorlar, one in Letterkenny, one in Strabane, one in Inishowen and one in Strabane.

Why does there just have to be one Supporters Club? I take it the Supporters Club you have is the Cobh Ramblers Supporters Club (is this run by the club?)

Why not set up a Pride of '83 Supporters Club. Charge a membership fee of €20 and run buses to all away matches. Members of your supporters club could get €5 discount (so a bus to Bohs away could be €20 for non-members and €15 for members).

Instead of complaining about THE supporters club, there is plenty of alternatives.

Don't see what was awkward about it. Quite simply they could have told them that they clearly stated no unaccompanied under 18's were allowed and to refuse them travel. No point moaning after the fact when it was their own free will that left them on!

Why can't the supporters club have something set in stone that names have to be down on a list in the bar by a Monday or Tuesday night on the week of an away game? It's simple!!! If there are not enough names then no bus. If somebody puts their name down then they do it on the understanding that they have to pay for their seat even if they pull out. Can't see many people having a problem with this.

It would be very very easy to actually have this in place. Within weeks there would be no more confusion and no more bitching as everybody would know the score.

The simple thing is something we've never really excelled in though...

Very true, however, people are great with ideas (not you) but when it comes to the crunch...........

I rang to Coach companies this morning and am awaiting quotes

I dont see how the supporters club should be at all responsible for buses, the members join and do what they can its not anyones business or duty to tell them what they should be doing. If any one of you realisticly wanted to join that badly you could just ring the club and ask when the next meeting is or else ask someone like Marco to post up the date and time.I have been involved in organising a bus b4 i think it was the drogs play-off a few years back the bus bounced and rocked the whole way im surprised they took us home.

I don't think the issue is with people wanting to join and not knowing where to do so, I thinks it's more down to the fact that busses used to be or were organised in the past by the SC and that operation seems to have ceased somewhat, which leave those wanting to travel more or less in limbo. If the SC don't want to be involved in bus organisation then to be honest, they should say so and maybe let others take the lead. I personally have no issue with the SC.

One of the main duties for any supporters club should be buses. It goes without saying. Fundraising is fantastic but the main aim is actually supporting the team and to support the team you need to ensure that supporters get there.
