Print it off and hand it to a member of the Supporters Club and show them how a good SC is run.
The people who are travelling to the matches are starting to get irritated by the supporters having to use their own cars constantly. 9 games in and still no bus has been run.

One guy who has been at most of the matches this year was going to some meeting last night to complain about the situation.(Don't know whether it was SC or Club Commitee meeting, but he was going to ask for buses and if he wasn't satisified he was going to ask for the SC to be disbanded and for them to start again)..........saying that I must give him a ring.

how about we split the eircom league up between us to find out exactly waht each clubs SC's do for their fans in terms of buses/events etc, we might be being a bit hard on our own one but this is a way of finding out. Anyone agree

Lads, plain and simple, WHY not join the SC? Get involved. Remember the SC are the ones who have stumped up €100k for the new stand, otherwise it would never have been finished. Remember too these guys are giving up their spare time to go out and sell lotto tickets which is funding the stand, so Iwould say that the stand is their No.1 priority.
If you are so keen on busses WHY NOT ORGANISE ONE YOURSELF. There is a
thread elsewhere about apppeals for help which despite initial enthusiasm have fallen on deaf ears.

Aren't busses usually organised by Supporters Clubs though? That's a question and not a statement, just so we're clear.

Nobody knows when the meetings are?, where the meetings are?, the fact of the matter is we don't know anything about the supporters club other than they put forward €100k for the new stand.
Like it or not the Cobh Ramblers Supporters Club is the most exclusive club in Cobh and to get in you have to be a member of one of two families!

Yes it is. Organising buses is the SC's job. Marco said that a few months ago in the last thread like this.

Do we reckon we could fill a 45 seater for the Derry game next week?

I would have thought one of the responsibilities of any supporters club is getting as many supporters as possible to games??

I appreciate it they may have enough on their plate but surely utilising the club website to advertise a bus and printing a handful of posters to be put up in the pubs would be managable?

I've said it before that it would be easy to implement a structure where names had to be down by the Monday or Tuesday of the week of the away game to see whether there was enough to organise a bus. There would be no more confusion as to whether a bus is going or not and supporters could only blame themselves if there wasn't enough names down to warrant hiring a bus.

It really could be that simple....

    I see it this way:

If you walk into an SC meeting an ask by way of a show of hands how many people in the SC have travelled to an away game in their own car and not bummed a free lift on the team bus?...........There would be no hands up!

Then ask how many have actually travelled to an away game from the SC?..........There would be about 5 hands up, all freebies on the team bus!

There is no excuse for not organising a bus to games in and around Dublin. Simple as that.
    I personally think it's time for a re-shuffle.

Was thinking not alright. I don't think a bus to Galway is out of the question though

A bus to Galway is a necessity. There should be a bus to every game during the 2nd series.

Very true. All the Dublin trips and that sort of distance should be achievable IMO.

Well if the supporters club are getting freebies on the team bus then that might possibly account for their apparent lack of enthusiasm when it comes to organising busses for travelling supporters. Team Bus = Team and Committee. All others should travel by way of an organised supporters bus. If that were the policy then it may help getting busses organised.

Forget about the supporters Club for the minute right. There is a think called CROST now right, so why not try to organise a bus to the Galway game and see what happens. Three weeks to organise one is plenty of time. I think that match has been change to Monday 26th though so maybe not a good idea. Next one after that is July 4th v Shamrock Rovers unless something is done for the Cork City game on 20th June

How do you know this?? Personally I would have no problem if people from the Sc were travelling on the team bus, they are giving up their free time for the betterment of the club and deserve it IMO.
SC have organised buses in the past but have been let down on numerous occasions by people withdrawing at the last minute leaving the Sc to pick up the shortfall.
The Sc have bailed the club out time and time again in the past and the new stand would not exist were it not for them. They are not a secret organisation, their committee is listed in the programme, you all know who they are so ask for a membership from and join up.
Finally, I can remember the Sc organised a bus to Dundalk last august with the clear instruction that no-one under the age of 18 could go unless accompanied by an adult. On the morning a lot of unaccompanied teens turned up which left the Sc in an awkward position, rather than turn them away as they could have done they allowed them travel but unfortunately had to babysit them for the day. I know that the part of the bus they were in was left in an awful condition after the journey with the Sc having to pick up the cleaning tab.
I am not in the Sc but was on the bus that day and I can verify for the behaviour of these 'people', so I'm sure you can understand the SC reluctance to fund buses for these people when they have a major financial undertaking to worry about. Rant over.
