just wondering are you funding your own expenses to new york including accomodation etc, or is some of this money going to your costs to get to america and accomodation when there?!
Hi lads,
STIG for CF Ireland, the charity campaign some of us UCD lads run every year, is running a raffle/prize draw as part of this year's efforts.
The main event this year will see me take part in the New York City marathon in November. Full details can be found here
The raffle is a limited ticket entry. Just 200 are being sold at €25 a pop. The prizes include a signed jersey by the Dublin Senior Gaelic Football team, a signed jersey by the Tipperary Senior Hurling team, 2 Premium tickets to an All-Ireland Quarter Finals double header in August, and a swanky Motorola handset.
We have two other prizes guaranteed as well but we're awaiting confirmation on what they are (the donors have promised stuff but we're just waiting to confirm exactly what it is they are giving). These prizes will be announced in due course.
All proceeds from the draw will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland.
If you're interested in entering please leave a comment here and I'll get on to you.

I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
The way this works is that I have to raise a minimum of €4750 for CF Ireland. This buys a package to go to NYC as part of their team. The package includes flights and 4 nights accommodation. I will however be making a substantial donation on my own part to the cause which will negate any of the costs spent on me, meaning that all money raised through this draw goes towards CF Ireland.
The package is the same for the other dozen or so people from Ireland representing them. They get some ridiculously good discount on everything so based on my own past experience in going on the cheap to the US this probably amounts to about €4k of that figure going directly to them (my holidays to LA last year and San Francisco this year cost 750 and 810 respectively for a 5 night and 8 night trip respectively including accommodation, car rental and flights).
I will however try to get an exact figure so I can adjust accordingly and make the subsequent donation that will negate these costs.

Update on the prizes. We have added a €250 voucher for Brown Thomas and a €200 voucher for Nue Blue Eriu to our prize list.
We already announced that we're giving away a signed Dublin jersey (by entire Senior Football panel), a signed Tipperary jersey (by entire Senior Hurling panel), 2 premium tickets to an All Ireland Football Quarter Finals double header and a Motorola handset.
