granted this is the GUFC forum, but some of the comments on friday night's game are even more biased than i thought they'd be. You're two goals came from some of the worst defending I have ever seen. Apart from these I didn't see Galway having much threat to the Harps goal. We were extremely nervous at the back, but in Gethins Parkhouse and Williams I felt we were slightly better than galway, attacking wise.

Harps will do extremely well to stay up i can see galway staying up ahead of them they are for sure the two worst teams in the league cobh and ucd have what it takes to stay up.

No, I have to disagree. Cobh need more points than Harps, Galway and one other team to stay up. At the minute they only have more points than Galway.

Well said Eamo we have 23 games left not 3.If we win on friday we could be level on points with Cobh and 1/2 points behind Harps and UCD. I remember one season being 11 points of safety with 6 games to go and we almost made it.

People are naturally dissapointed and angry. We couldn't even beat Harps at home.Always annoys me when people come out with the "be positive" rubbish.
There's no positives having 3 points out of 33,having the worst defence in the league, scoring very few goals, being bottom of the league every week and failing to beat a useless Finn Harps team.

What exactly were you expecting people to say in this thread?

I think we can still stay up and it's far from over for sure but there's been no positives at all yet this season bar the appointment of Kenna and the sacking of that other clown.

The overreaction here is what amazes me.

I wasnt expecting everyone to be positive but the doom and gloom here with people saying we are already down is crazy. So according to people here we should just give up now is it??There may not be many positives but it doesnt mean there wont be,or that its hopeless.

Ya that's true and the points tally to stay up does'nt change either, out of those 23 games we need at least 8 wins and a few draws(5-6), it's achievable but when yopu only have 3 points from the first quater of the season then the prospects of that happening are slim to the say the least, i'd be more confident if it was a ''One Up One Down'' season but with 3 going down and us been clear at bottom by a few points, my confidence would'nt be too high.

People on here can go on about why are posters been so negative, well in fairness been positive or negative has no bearing on how many points we pick up, the ones who need the positive attitude are the players who are playing for the points, hopefully they have it!!

Didn't mean to offend but not all reports are true. If you are in any doubt look at today's Galway First. On page 39 it says we captured our FIRST point of the season. I hope that's not true.......don't you?
Nah mate, I have a very thick skin, otherwise I wouldn't bother doing it. Thanks for pointing that out by the way. Obviously should have been first home point. My sincerest apologies.

You must be extracting the urine surely? Harps had about three attacks worthy of the name all game and they scored from two of them. I guess you can say they are economical if nothing else.

Seriously though United dominated possession and territory almost from beginning to end with a 10 minute spell after half-time being the only period of the game when Harps managed to get on top a little. Granted the defending for all four goals scored was pretty poor but United spent the vast majority of the game camped in the Harps half. Now the United defending was pretty bad but Harps I thought were shambolic at the back. In the first five minutes alone United almost scored twice when the ball was flying about the Harps box like a ping pong ball and that set the tone for the evening as regards the standard of defending on show. A better side than United would seriously have scored four or five. Fair play to Harps though. They made the very most of the little possession they enjoyed.

I know its a Premiership thing but....Look at what Fulham done. The positivity is needed on the terraces in order to stop the players from dropping the heads. Having said that July cant come quick enough IMO.

Only 6 league games in total left before july! There are only 2 league games in june. Hopefully we can scrap as many points as possible until then.

I'd agree more so with the bigger clubs(attendance wise) in Europe, having been too a number of games with high atttendences in various sports it's amazing the noise a crowd can make..... however i don't think it matters as much in the LOI when you have 20-30 lads making noise, the only clubs in the LOI who can draw confidence from support like this would be Rovers and Bohs having over 200 men(talking about away games more) shouting them on with passion(and to a lesser extent Cork and Derry), at the end of the day it comes down to getting the best out of yourself(in relation to: the player), i don't think 20-30 lads can draw you on like 20,000+ people, in any case i was just saying to the OP(on the matter) that positive posting is'nt going to gain us points!!. It's up to the lads first and formost!!.
