    Paul Magee RIP

Sad to hear today that Paul Magee, son of Jimmy Magee - The Memory man - passed away yesterday, aged 51 after three years suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. Paul was, for a few years, a full time pro with Shams and a decent player. He created havoc in The Showgrounds in 1977 when he equalized for Shams in the final match of our league winning season but, luckily (probably for him) we scored two more.
He had been working with Paddy Power until his illness and used to turn up on RTE Racing an odd time. He was also an international ten pin bowler
Awful young man to die and this will hit poor ould Jimmy very hard.
    RIP

    Very sad news indeed.
Jimmy was on the Late Late Show a few months back, I think the show was a tribute to Jimmy. Paul was in the audience and Jimmy was in tears as he spoke about Paul's illness.
Yea I agree this will be a terrible blow to Jimmy. Our prayers are with him.
