Bit light on defenders again. 'Keepers aren't the best and I dunno what Rowe is doing there (I think Fenlon still retains some affection for him as he was a mascot at Shels) but that's a decent squad.

Starting XI should be: Murphy, O'Brien, Powell, O Cearuill, Peers, Kavanagh, Brennan, Keegan, Rice, Mooney, Quigley.

Hmm; wonder if any of the three amigos will be in attendance, or if Tardelli's appearance at the Setanta game was a once-off.

As an aside, the new list on the left side of the navigation is hideously broken.

Although a biast opinion...I think Seamie Coleman should start too. One of the best talents in the league.

I agree, I think he's brilliant. But Ger O'Brien was absolutely outstanding in that position against Slovakia and he's unlikely to be dropped. Maybe Coleman could be accommodated on the right side of midfield?

Good point actually, I wasn't thinking about the last game. Yeah alot of people think he would be great on the right for us, he has that attacking aspect to his game where he's not afraid to take on a man..or 3!
But with our options for right back, no one has the same aggreasion and bite as him, so cook prefers him there.

They said on TV3 last night that one of Traps team will be at the match.

Its a disgrace that not all 3 are going to the match. The U-23 squad surely should be capable of feeding players to the National squad, otherwise its pointless.

Relax! You don't need all 3 of them at the game; if either Tardelli or Brady are at the game (or even Trap himself), that's enough.

I'd like it to be Tardelli. He's already watch pats v Linfield so if he continues to watch he'll have a better overall view. I've no doubt that Brady is already prejudiced against our players so nice to have a fresh view

And again, none of those mentioned are good enough imo to replace any of the current squad

Dodge in prejudice shocker or, like Brady, has seen enough to make a judgement call?

    How do you know.

How many times have you seen David Connoly play this season. And what about half of the others. Most of them are playing reserve team football.

Its a stupid statement, a totally blinkered opinion and I think opinions like that are based on the rubbish you read in the papers.

    Darren o'dea
Cannot make Celtic's first team squad. Playing for Celtic reserves in a standard similar to eircom league 1st division eg Limerick 37. Was subbed at half time in last match. Ive seen Celtic reserves play Harps (Harps 3-0 up at half time, 2nd half Harps reserves, ended 3-2). You are seriously telling me that there is no better defenders in the LOI than Darren O'Dea? He is absolutely crap and Strachan says hes nowhere near Internation standard.

    Darren Randolph
Darren Quigely was always ahead of him and quigely aint much good! You are telling me there is nobody better than this guy in the eircom league? If Randolph and Murphy were in the U-23 squad together Randolph would NOT be playing. As for henderson he wouldn't make a decent div 1 team here.
You could go through most of the squad this way; Whelan, Keogh, Scannell, Connolly etc

Nearly that whole squad cannot even make their own first teams or if they are they are in a lower division.

Sorry, I forgot about the 40 man squad. I was talking about a 22-25 man squad

reason he was subbed as he is just after having an operation and was just only back in time for the huns game at the weekend.
if you asked most celtic fans they would have him in as one of thecentre halves, for christ sake this lad has played in the san siro twice against milan in the last year and even played out of position once at left back and played great both times.
if strachan gets over his love in with mcmanus and caldwell then o dea would be our number one defender

Is that Rovers or Cliftonville's No 1?

Every time I've seen him and O'Cearuill play together, Joe has looked a better player
