    Slatts forced out

Who are you Ramsie? Have you any idea what the players go through to give you a right to slate them?

Slatts, gave us nothing but 150% effort in the 4 years he was with us. He was held in such high esteem that he got clubman of the year. He left because he was so cheesed off at being displaced by a 40 year old injury prone donkey, who was once great, but is now only a city reject of the highest order. Can't blame him for that really, he owes us nothing and I would like it placed on record the thanks of genuine season ticket holders for all his efforts.

I'm sure you'd love to train your nuts of 4 days a week at your peak only to be replaced by crumbled biscuits. Come on mate, tell me when Slatts let us down? For that matter you probably disliked JD as well did ya? Or do you even know who he is?

Ask any player if they miss Slatts - they'll answer your snide opinion.

In the bigger picture - ask yerself why Deckie Mc is gone? Why Yelvie is considering a move? Get with the real life my man, Hill is an arrogent twit who only plays his mates. Do ya know how much biscuits is getting to run us into the ground?
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.

    clifford you havent a clue.....
slatts might of gave a 150% for the last 4 years but he still wasnt good enough Remember we did concide the most last year you might blame the defence but we was at fault for lots of those goals. oh and Deckie Mc has took 2 months off for rest to get rid of his injuries and thats a fact i was talking to him at the Everton v.s Waterford game
And Yelve dont make me laugh
id like to Know who you are....................

    Thumbs up Slatts

If he is gone, then I have to say I can't blame him. John kept him out because he was a fine keeper. Harrington doesn't give me a great confidence about the team performance in the back. You only have to look at some of the match reports.

But Slatts never let the team down when he got his chance.

The last game against the Dubs it was, a poor referee and DH buddy JK, that cost us the game.

I am surprise the Club has not made any statment.

Clifford, do YOU have any idea what players go through to give you a right to slate them?

Most hypocritical post i've seen in ages. Don't take a moral high ground and then turn around and slate a player who's given a great standard of play and of energy to the LOI for so long.

TIK TOK - No disrespcet to the once great Harrington, come and have a look at the pale imitation he is now, that's all. I know plenty about the commitment given by players - Phil don't train no more, he can't after the fatigue suffered during matches, can't blame him really age gets us all in the end. Trust me I'm there to see it - I wouldn't comment if I didn't know the score, not like some people below.

Shambles, sorry Shammy? - Like what the hell does a Rover know about Cobh Ramblers? Enough already. What goals was he accountable for wise man - are you a ST at Colmans park? Slatts was keeper in 18 of the matches which saw Rams finish in the play offs for the first time in donkeys years, snap out of it you plum.

Rams - fan - At last a man with sense, no Smeichal(sp?), but never let us down - fact. Was always there for an injury prone JD and just wants to move on and get a deserved game somewhere now. Thrown in for a game here and there is no way to play footie. Hill on record as saying he never let us down, I 'm sure he's the one who counts most, gutted to lose him he told me.

And finally ramsie, ha ha - the man with no grammer, where to start!! I know a lot more than you ever will, daily contact with the squad to be honest. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks. I can't even be bothered to argue with a guy who had no idea where Tony T was v lims, amazing what you find out about someones character by reading back a bit.

You were right about the back four being brutal last year though, but since Johnny Andrews slotted in things look a whole lot better. Now all we need is rid of JK and PH and we'll be back in top battle.

    Re. Derek Slattery

Well said Clifford --------Ramsie has not got a clue ----either about foothball or anything else for that matter .
You made some very good points there ---in our promotion run last year i saw Slatts play some tremendous games ---in fact against Killkenny at home early in the season i saw him make two of the gretest saves i have ever seen .WHAT A TERRIFIC GOALKEEPER.---and such a lovely lad.
All the team are gutted hes gone ----nothing against Harrington but if Slatts was there tonight that goal would not have gone in .

Slatts is gone because he feels he has been unfairly treated .Dave Hill should get him back immediately .As far as i know it was his own call .---to go that is .
Ramsie when you get hung up on something you get very bad and biased .---You should try and be more open to seeing the other side of things ---Get rid of the ----i must get even sympton and wise up and listen to people part. those who know more about foothball then yourself ,
I dont know you Clifford but well said and keep up the good work of defending people wrongly got at .

That shot was unstopable. If that was Slatts he would of watched it go in.

Fair play Bren, you obviously know the score, I believe it was his decision as well, our front man confirmed that Slatts just wanted a game again. Will possibly go MSL for a while for games.

Fair play ramsie, all I was saying was Slatt's committment was awesome over the years, no gripe with ya buddy.

Gutted with last night, so near and yet so far.

Don't think any keeper would have kept that shot out in fairness. If Bruts had brought the shooting boot's we'd have been laughing, he owes us nothing though. Hopefully we can go on a run in the important one again and get up the league now this distraction is outta the way.

As for the homeless rover Shambles, ha ha, glad you go to watch a class team more than the team you proclaim to support.

Slattery played well for the club

In my opinion Slattery played very well for Cobh Ramblers in his time with the club, it was a pity to see so much negatives wrote about him here. What fans should remember is that he was playing with a team who had probably the worst central defence pairing that ever played for this club. Now that Darren Murphy and John Andrews are playing there we look a lot more solid.

I was talking to some of the commitee members last night at the game. He said Slatts decided before the trip to Derry. Came in on the Tuesday thanked the lads for the support and said his farewells.

I for one would have liked the club to acknowledge its appreciation last night for Slatts.

He will be a bigger loss than people imagine..

And this leaves the Rams without a sub keeper.

In fairness, Eddie the only negatives were from a so called rovers fan who want's to be a rambler.

As I said way back at the start Hill and the players will miss him for spirit as well - that's what counts. Pity no announcement came last night.

We must now start looking at alternatives unless Dave gets him back, cos we will be stuck badly if Phil's inevitable injury occurs. I know for a fact he takes three or four days to recover from a match alone and in all fairness, as good as he was he's not the future!

Let me state, I am only a fan of our greatest ever player Mark Clifford, not actually him in case there is any ambiguity.
