They only started doing them last week. I might give something a go tomorrow. The clubhouse is also open as the latest of Mick's Italian restaurants and that is where they get the influence

This is the most popular thread of the last few days, a thread about food at the grounds! Not about football, or the standard of football? Not about the possibility of Bohs ending up like Shels? This is whats occuping your LOI related thoughts most?
Given that the thread is easily five pages long now, doesn't that suggest that, like it or not, it's a topic people are interested in talking about?
It's one thread, a tiny part of a multitude of them on this site, any other one of which might cause you a little less personal torment than this one obviously does, so might I suggest that rather than post TWICE on a thread you don't like, and getting off your cheap little insults into the bargain, you may instead go read something else?

Back on topic: Rarely bother with anything inside a ground, as almost invariably it's sh*te/cold/overpriced/liable to be spilled by me or me neighbour so most often there's always a place you'd know to drop into before the match or on the drive home.
Within grounds though it's Burdock's, hands down, given that I've not yet tried the fabled Mondog.

Completely out of order there skitz3, calm down on the personal insults.

This is the most popular thread of the last few days, a thread about food at the grounds! Not about football, or the standard of football? Not about the possibility of Bohs ending up like Shels? This is whats occuping your LOI related thoughts most?
There are a multitude of threads devoted to the standard of play, players, clubs, league, refs, grounds, rules, etc. ..... anything and everything. Its not like it hasn't been addressed. If you want to discuss this then look at one of those thread or start another one.

Football and the league is recreational and the events/games are largely part of the sporting entertainment industry available to the general public whether you like it or not. It is the general public who clubs are trying to appeal to in effort to improve attendances. Food at grounds is a big part of the package for any punter going along to a game to be entertained so it is something that should be discussed.

If you dont like the topic then do not post/read it. Its as simple as that.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

I think the upshot of this thread is that Burdocks, Wexford Wine and Mon Dogs are they only decent cuisine on offer to fans in all of the grounds through the country. It is something that should be looked at and could easily be improved.

If you compared it to any other event, like concerts, other sports, the circus, festivals you could say that its generally bad but that doesn't mean clubs have to automatically follow suit.

A lot the licensing focuses on facilities, mostly from a safety point of view, clubs being able to cater for big crowds etc. The food, shops and bars are all elements that are left to the clubs discretion and its probably the one area where clubs will find it easier to attract crowds. I know its hard to nail down but its definitely something clubs should be encouraged to improve, nearly working in tandem with CPO's or even if there were a 'hospitality officer' or something, i dunno. Its a bit of a grey area.

I have an ongoing plan to do a quick legger out of Ferrycarrig Park on the stroke of the final whistle. Now I hear about all the great gear available after the match. Might hang back tomorrow

Yes there are plenty of other threads on other important footballing subjects but some of them aren't even a page long but this, a thread about food at games, is what matters to LOI fans? I think it's a disgrace to be honest, these people just don't seem to give a **** about the important issues in Irish football. A lot of people who've posted in this thread, get on a high horse regarding Irish fans of British football but is it any wonder when, to anyone on the outside looking in, this is the topic on most LOI fans minds. if they got off their high horse they would realise they're just as ignorant.

I would like to see celebrity chefs like Richard Corrigan or Gordon Ramsay take on the challenge of preparing MonDogs or a Wexford Youths duck liver pate for the punters , now that's a cookery programme I would watch. Oh, yes I got a lovely cup of tea in Bray last season. I wonder if you can still buy Wagon Wheels at any EL ground?

Moderation: Calm down. People can debate whatever they want. It is their own choice to make when doing so and you cannot change that.

It is their choice not yours.

There are countless other threads that have gone into multiple pages on other topics. Some have gone on for months.

If you have issues with other fans opinions or lack of opinion then you can post in those thread to simulate debate. If you have issues with other fans opinions with the view/attitude towards British football then you can start a thread on that, but you cannot under any circumstances goad other posters into debate or argument over their opinions in this thread or any other one.

Can i just point out that it is only one thread that can be described at light hearted, a break from other 'more important issues in Irish football'. Can you please leave this slide. It is one thread that numerous people have chosen to debate in and they are entitled to do so. You cannot dictate what people should or should not talk about, nor should you either.

In 2-3 days this thread will fall down the page and you wont have to look at it any more. Its Friday, there is lots of football on over the next few days, i suggest you enjoy it and have a good weekend.

    Or what?
This kind of comment is pushing the boat out. Take this as a warning. Refrain from this kind of attitude and stop abusing other posters. No more or you will force moderators hand. This is your second questionable post and they are the only posts on a 5 page thread that have attacked other posters.

The best value has to be in the Brandywell.

BTW, why would someone come to a Derry match and not bring some sterling with them?

With the rate of the euro right now it makes for great value between cheap pints before the game (€2.40) price into the main stand €13.20 and the price of a sausage supper about €4 (and two really big battered ones freshly made ) makes for a cheap night out.

I predict this thread to run at least 8 pages lol

I know it's €15 to get in but change your money 1st and it'll work out at €13.20

Sorry for getting out of hand skitz. I would be grateful if you could list the topics I can comment on. Even better, if you had the time, will you post my opinion for me?

    Thanks Boss
