And it's been changed to 7.30 KO.
What's Waterford's faiscination with 7.30pm? Didn't they get the City - Waterford game at the Cross changed to 7.30 aswell?

A lads i think if you can make it go it might turn out to be a good game of ball and give Everton a few bob in there pockets.

Put a few bob in your pocket, Everton are 10/1 to win

fair play to them not being pressured into moving the game to waaaterford, hopefully it'll work out well for them
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

THE 2003 FAI Carlsberg Cup Senior Cup kicks off tonight with an 11th hour decision expected on the issue of cup-tied players.

As it stands, those players who played in last year's FAI Intermediate or Junior Cups and who switched clubs during the summer are ineligible for the Senior Cup.

The ruling affects many of the 32 clubs and FAI Chief Executive Fran Rooney spent yesterday trying to nail down agreements from all clubs and an announcement is expected this morning.

As a result, tonight's match between Everton and Waterford United at Turner's Cross (7.45) has been rather overshadowed.

These sides have met already this season with Waterford winning 2-0 in the Munster Senior Cup and given Jimmy McGeough's side is currently riding high in second spot in the Eircom League Premier Division they must fancied to repeat that result.

Everton, who are 200/1 to win the competition, have four players away on holidays this week while striker Keith O'Connor is an injury doubt.

Waterford, fresh from their impressive 2-1 victory against Cork City last Friday, are without skipper John Frost who misses the game through illness while Alan O'Neill (knee) and Brian Mallon (groin) are rated doubtful.

The last time Everton faced league opposition they lost 4-2 to Shelbourne, but, having trailed 3-0 at one stage, battled back to 3-2 to give their more illustrious opponents a fright.

Team manager Pat Brown played in that game and he'll be looking to his side to show similar battling spirit in what will be a difficult test.

Five Year Cup Record: Everton (no appearances), Waterford (1st, 2nd, sf, 2nd, 3rd). Last Round: Newbridge 0 Everton 3 (O'Shea (2), Walsh) Betting: Everton 15/2, Waterford 1/4, Draw 4/1. Referee: D Deady (Cork). Replay Date: Friday, July 25, RSC (7.30). Verdict: Away Win.

You can get Everton at 10/1 in ladbrooks. Everton to win 1-0 with a very suspect penalty with a few minutes to go .

    Sullivan's hat-trick ends Everton hopes

    EVERTON 1 WATERFORD UNITED 3

STRIKER Vinny Sullivan was the star of the show with a hat-trick of goals to help Waterford defeat Munster Senior League side Everton in the FAI Carlsberg Cup at Turner's Cross last night.

Indeed, Sullivan could have had four goals in this second round tie had he not shot wide from a penalty as Waterford came from behind to overcome their spirited opponents.

Everton took a shock lead after just four minutes. The Waterford defence was static as winger Lawrence Fitzpatrick headed the ball into the penalty area and Richard O'Shea won the race for possession to volley it past the advancing 'keeper Dan Connor.

Sullivan soon levelled, scrambling the ball home after a corner by Alan Reilly eluded 'keeper Denis Kavanagh.

The second arrived after 27 minutes and the centre-forward duly completed his hat-trick in the 60th minute.

EVERTON - Kavanagh; McGrath, Moynihan, Leahy, Hutchinson (Cronin 77); Fitzpatrick, O'Connell, Horan, Murray; Welch, O'Shea (O'Connell 83).

WATERFORD UNITED - Connor; McLoughlin, Breen, Byrne, Donnelly; O'Brien, Rudden (Rockett 90), Clifford, Waters; Sullivan, Reilly (Hughes 86).

Twas a good ol game alright, Everton gave it a go and did themselves proud.

though i didn't like the WAAAATERFORD fans taking over the Shed and singing "There's only one team in munster".

The view from the press box was good so, eh Roar?

I thought that the gulf in class was very evident throughout, in fairness Waterford could, and probably should, have got a few more.
Waterford were far better technically and the difference between the two teams fitness levels was astounding.

I bet the Waterford fans (all 30 of them!) were well proud of themselves taking over the shed!!!
    Champions!

    Exclamation .............

The 12th man can swing it alright but the club should move on this aswell.

The abuse is over the top and these people are a disorder. Act now.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
