Exactly, the same as the jokes that were going around when Nick Leeson came to the club.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that Galway United would be able to pay Kenna enough money in order that someone could accuse Kenna of being out to make a quick buck.

Did you see Kenna in Monday Night Soccer last night? He was beamed in from the Galway studio.

That would never have happened during Cousins' era because he'd have had to drive 120 miles to RTE Galway.

    Onwards and upwards.....

Hope it works out for you and stay up, Galway are going about things the right way and would be a shame if they were to be relegated.
I believe he was actually at Kidderminster as a player/coach so he does have a little bit of experience. He strikes me as an intelligent individual and has surely learned from his time playing for top managers in the uk

    Cool Jemmy

from what I know he has a wife and 2 kids living in england - he is most definitely not coming back to ireland for the money or convenience.

He wants to make a name for himself as a manager so its up to him - wont suit his CV if he fails at galway - so give him a chance and wait & see.

Surely hes better than the usual suspects who seem to just move from one LOI club to another.

I think he is to be applauded for taking this gamble and uprooting and moving to Galway - so lets see.

BTW he has his EUFA A badge which is more than most other managers have.

Well then you will be surprised to find out that almost every manager in the Premier Division has a pro license and that a couple of current players have the A license.

The appointment made the back page of our local paper here in England (the Worcester News) this morning (Kenna was playing for Kidderminster - one of our local sides)

http://www.kidderminstershuttle.co.u...galway_job.php (the link is from the Kidderminster Shuttle - but the same story appeared in our paper too)

Liked how much detail they went into - getting the League name correct (usually used to state "Irish League", plus they gave details of the first game - probably the first time I've seen Bray Wanderers mentioned in there )

I wonder how many of the Irish National Papers had news on Kenna's new job this morning - I'd wager none

Both the Irish Times and the Indo had pieces on it.

    Good Interview there.

Also, according to The Sentinel 40% of his wages this year depend on the club staying up.Plus, his wife and kids are coming for the game on friday but are going back to live in England till the kids finish school for the year. Then they are gonna look at houses around Galway with a view to buying one in the Summer.i think that shows real commitment to move his young family over here.Ive a strange feeling inside me for the months ahead,i think its called optimism, had forgotten what that was like going to terryland.

It was actually mentioned on the front page of the Irish Times. There were colour photos of JK with a GUFC scarf in most of the tabloids.

    The

well attended press conference surprised kenna a bit. He featured on rte1 six oclock news, Nuacht TG4, Sports tonight tv3 and 3 mins on rte2 late night news & sport. The sponsors were very happy id say

According to the Herald last night, Kenna's middle name is Jude. Quite apt that, as Jude is the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes

OMG! you are just so witty & real quick too!!. How long did it take you to come up with that one. 6 days too late,I suppose that would be the norm for people from that part of the country!! & you should know where the Herald gets all it's info.

I feel bad enough for you that you actually read the Evening Herald without saying anything else.

Ah the Heddald is a great old read alright. I gave up the comics myself a good few years ago though.
