Think Galway will definitely be in the final. Have come a long way in the last yr and following their performances in Manchester Cup and in Europe think they will defo be there again and think they will win it once again.
Think St Francis and Cork could be close and could go either way. Cork have some very good players and will defo put up a fight. But i think id also go for home wins all round.

    Hi Curler,
Galway are playing Peamount this sunday in Terryland Park (3pm KO), so they must've won against Benfica (though, i don't know the result).
    Cheers!

I hope they will do more than just putting one piece on their website. I don't expect they will but the girls on both teams deserve a little more recognition for getting to final of the countries main competition

About time it was played....only about 3 months late!

The final def won't be before Christmas now which is a pity. Would of been nice to wrap up the season properly in 2008 instead of carrying games into the new year!

What were the teams for this game Ramladies? Or will I have to buy the Evening Echo?

Cork:Eilish Walsh, Aoife Kelleher, Laura Thompson, Cathrese Fahey, Kathleen O'Brien, Stacey Paul, Yvonne Harrington, Ciara Murphy, Katie Mc Carthy, Barbara O'Connell, Valerie Leahy. Subs: Eimear Knightly for Murphy(60).
Wilton:Ciara Meehan, Erika O'Sullivan, Susan Kelleher, Dee Callanan, Jessica Geasley, Aisling Mc Gregor, Susan Edmounds, Amanda Parkes, Denise Buckley, Essmay Mannix, Claudine Myles. Subs: Natalie O'Brien for Geasley(62).

Ya its a pity couldnt have been finished up before christmas, really drags out the season. Cork were suppose to have played some really impressive football last night, was suppose to be an entertaining game. they played about 40 mins with ten players as Stacey Paul went off injured.
So what predictions for the final. say it'll be a close one but im gonna go with Cork to take it, they've been playing impressive football over the course of this competition.

I agree its going to be a tight game. I honestly think its going to go to who is back training and gets a few games under their belts before it!!!

Annacotty take 3 weeks off a year at Christmas for rest and then its back again for pre-season. It will be a disadvantage to Cork being a league side trying to get together for training but thats the only negative for them as far as I can see!

Wilton had a good side out against them in fairness missing a few regulars or am I mistaken? Know majority of Cork side you named, couple of unknowns though!

Its going to be an absolute cracker of a game, it always is when Annacotty meet Cork teams.

Ya Wilton were missin a few of there stronger players. Cork also were missin a good few strong players for this game. Defo the fact that anacotty are a club side who are goin back to pre-season will stand to them esp as alot of the cork club teams aint goin back for awhile so as you said say it'll be a problem getting them together and getting the few friendlies.
Oh defo always guaranteed a good game when anacotty meet a cork team. cant wait for it say it'll be a cracker.

    Unhappy

I probably shouldn't be coz it happens more often than i think it should but I'm a little annoyed with the organisers of a womens soccer tournament. Did anyone know this match was taking place? I would definitely have gone to it, but did not have a clue it was on. I get the Echo regularly and hang around with plenty of other soccer players and heard nothing about it. There was nothing on this site about it, nothing on Munsterspride (although that is not getting updated regularly) and nothing on cork league site. Was there many at it? Or did people just not know about it? I was told last week it might be played saturday and then that it was off.
When was the game supposed to be originally played? Have Annacotty been waiting 3 months since their semi final? thats crazy. Been loooking back and National Cup Quarter final was 7th Sept and Semi final was 2nd November, so this game could have been played ages ago, was there no deadline or what?
Did Cork only have 12 players? they had to play with 10 when stacey paul went off, I thinkits strange the cork league has no more than 12 players? I'm assuming the sub was already made when she went off?
Sorry about all the questions but Really would have loved to have seen the game.
