I thought O'Sullivan and Doyle had good games. Less impressed with the right back, who looked very green. Nice to get the win. Here's hoping the watching senior players will have picked up enough tips to see off Cobh!

    O'Sullivan played 7 minutes??

Thought Harding played quite well myself, and would see him as Mahons replacement in time! Did make one mistake which led to there great chance in the first half, allowed Kirby to knick insde him and put the ball on a plate for there young striker who missed!

    Ratings in the star:

    Brennan 6

    Harding 6
    McMillan 7
    Shorthall 7
    Gallagher 6

    Reilly 6
    Bolger 6
    O'Sullivan 5 (Doyle 6)
    O'Callaghan 6

    Forsyth 6
    Purcell 6

Thought UCD looked very solid last night, apart from one sitter Pat's didn't really have any chances, both goals taken well.

Slightly OT, but someone needs to get that poor announcer fella a wireless mic, he has to sprint up to that garden shed every time there's a substitution, can't be good for the ticker...

    Question

What's Mullins' first name, and what position does he normally play?

Longer than that surely? Perhaps not. Regardless, he caught my eye a couple of times with some good passing.

He looked very uncomfortable on the ball and gave the ball away badly a number of times. I'd be worried if he was to appear on a teamsheet for a league game in the near future. I really don't see whatever you saw.

If they'd a decent striker playing, they'd have been very dangerous. They didn't.

just a remark on the minute silence lads, my deepest sympathies go to Alan McNally and his family in what must be a terrible time for them, his father was a lovely man and a regular goer around belfield park. may he rest in peace.

Ryan Guy is a very good player, Pats were unfortunate that their chances fell to their U18 striker.

I thought he was decent enough, always seemed eager to run at the full back, which is encouraging seeing as only one winger who will do that at the moment. Only bad side is his crossing, which is poor enough.

Well said mcglinchey, sympaties to his family and friends. Dissapointing to lose another UCD fan. RIP.

Well said, McGlinchey. Alan and his younger brother were at the game last night and they've been known to look at this forum from time to time. My condolences go to them both and their family.

I think Andy's better already. I don't rate Guy at all (work rate aside)

He's lively, but if anything, Dmanetc. is being generous about his crossing.

Comments like that lead to Darren O'Brien II quitting the club when he wasn't selected for the latter stages of the tournament in 2005.
