    will they hang onto the current crest i wonder??. i'd say so seens as the crest on the new jersey just says limerick and the 37 has been dropped from it.

    Limerick FC is a better name in fairness. We have been Limerick FC Limerick AFC Limerick united Limerick City Limerick FC Limerick 37. The moan thing is that the city still has a senior football team. Glad to see we are keeping the blue shirts too.

    Limerick FC Wanderers Rovers City Celtic United Athletic 37 08.
    Now everyone's happy.
    And because Jack's a yank, I'm surprised he hasn't used some animal like Limerick Panthers or Limerick Llamas.

    Time to get a new Ultras banner Mr. Fish.

    As I've always said the main thing for me is the "Limerick" part of the name.

    Might've been CTID suggested "Soccer City Bluesox" ... I suggested an augmentation to "Pepsi Presents Soccer City Bluesox".

    Maybe while Trap's down they might bring him to see the new Thomond Park. I'd be interested to hear the first retort when he enquires why the local senior football team don't play out of there.

    They where 3 different teams, they are not all directly linked, so to use we have been, is incorrect.

    TEAM 1: Limerick AFC(1937-79) -> Limerick United FC(1979-83) - Resigned From League 1983

    TEAM 2: Limerick City FC(1983-1992) -> Limerick FC (1992-2007) - Resigned From League 2007

    TEAM 3: Limerick 37 (2007-)

    Did they buy the rights of Limerick FC (1937) from Daft Dave?

    Must have, last I heard though he was planning on renaming Kildare County to Limerick 2: This Time It's Personal F.C., so I'm surprised he's sold them

    Limerick city became Limerick fc its the same club. They dropped the city to try and entice the country folk back to our games. the owner of Limerick FC was not given a licence in 2007 and as he owned the name, the clubhad to change its name for Limerick to continue in the league. When I came up with Limerick 37 football club the idea was that the 37 would be dropped within a few years and revert back to Limerick Football Club. Didnt think it would only be a two years though

    I apologise in advance but i couldnt resist it.

    They could borrow a knickname from a now defunct NBA team, and name themselves after them.. Limerick Bullets.

    I know, I know, I'm so clever.

    I'll be off then...

    No need to change the flag, the 'Ultras' can just call themselves 'L37' from now on and that's that sorted.....
