Letter to FAI / Eircom League

I have spoken with the Eircom League this morning to see if there has been any update on the current Limerick situation, and guess what.....there isn't one. However, I was given the impression that unless something is done in the immediate future, they're going to pull the plug straight away and that will be that. Apparently it is unconstitutional to have a leaderless committee, not publish accounts and be insolvent beyond redemption. We are now about to be classified as insolvent beyond redemption.
I have spoken to a financial advisor about a rescue package that would keep the club afloat, and he estimates it to be in the region of €15,000 up front. I am prepared to pledge €5000 of that figure, but only if the entire regime goes and is replaced by realists. If the supporters club want to help raise the additional €10,000 and have a realistic way of doing so, then I suggest we approach the Eircom League ASAP with our proposals and have the existing committee banned from being Directors or Committee members of a EL club.
I am very serious about this...is anyone else??

We would need to sit down with all the members of the supporters club to tease this one out. Some of us may have a few bob to spare but there are others who may not think that we should buy into the club. I am sorry to hear of the eircom league psoition as they have done nothing for Limerick football down through the years..Thanks for the support in our time of need lads .

I dont see any rush by Teams to join up to division 1, a mickey mouse laegue and most junior clubs will run a mile from it if they have any sense.

As regards the future of the club I have it that there is something going on at the moment and hopefully we will have news on this very soon. The players have got paid last week and will do so for the next 2 matches. A good draw in the cup will be important as well. I feel that it's crucial that we keep the team together as another season in division 1 is one too many. If we dont hear anything soon about takeovers etc, and from what i have gathered any takeover WILL involve a change in who runs the club and new structures, then we are F**ed but so be it. It is better than going on like this all the time.

btw Ross Cosgrave is supposdly signing at the present. Lets not sell our players to Cork Sc**m who behave like Vultures over a corpse.

    Up Limerick

Alright boys and girls, how about we try and get this thread back on track? We'll stop abusing each other and the club for the time being and get back to the original suggestion at hand. For those who missed it it's the first post above.

I know that some of you are keen for me to start throwing my moderator muscle around but I prefer to avoid that whenever possible.

And if everybody acts in an adult fashion I'm sure that can be managed. So perhaps anybody who wants to continue along in the vein this thread has taken with the last few posts (mine included) could make use of the Private Messaging function provided? Otherwise I'll have to start moving posts to rubbish and I know that annoys people (and it's extra work for me too! ) Hopefully we're all still friends!?

    Thanks lads,
    slk (It's about you know)
The ball is round and has many surprises.
