    God I've missed this thread....

outstanding last night. I just hope Messi can conjure up something similiar tonight so we've got a Barca vs Man Utd Final.

Bar the assassination attempt to win the free for the first goal, but the ref bought it.

He's a joke. Constantly dives ( has it down to a fine art now), moans persistently and officials buy into the facade . Also has whiskey nose rattling on on his behalf persistently so as to gain sympathy and support from the powers that be.
Its ,success at all costs. It does'nt matter how it is gained.

Well, it is professional sport. Who do you support? Are they the definition of perfect sporting ethics?

United deserved to go through over the 2 legs. End of story.

Joke, whiskey nose, facade??? What's wrong did you lose money on the game or something. Or are you a gooner, or worse still a scouser fan.
Did you see his strike for his first goal, regardless how it was won (or awarded). Few players can hit a ball like that. And his second was class, started and finished the attack. A great team goal with great individual flair from Ronnie thrown in. Can't deny it.
We'll see how many people will slate Drogba tonight after he spends half the match throwing himself to the ground looking for the ref to save him.

The thread is about Ronaldo and that's what we were discussing. Sorry we woke you from your afternoon nap.

United deserved to go through - by far the better side. Arsenal were extremely disappointing over the two legs.

Back on the topic of this thread, i.e. Is Ronaldo the best player in the world? the answer is - no he is not at the moment. Messi is. He struck the free well last night for the first goal but Almunia was disgraceful - there's no doubt keepers like Buffon, Given, Cech, Casillas would have saved that comfortably.

His second goal was a lovely finish but I'd give more of the credit to Rooney for that goal - pinpoint pass.

Actually, come to think of it, in terms of the best player in 2009 I'd have Rooney ahead of Ronaldo as well as Messi.

Are you sure Cech would have saved it?
My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method, is love. I love you Sheriff Truman.

Refer to earlier contributions made re 'Diveba'. I have been consistent throughout: cheating should not be tolerated in the game!

So its ok for him to cheat in winning a free if he can ping it in from 35 yards? Sounds logical.

I reckon Didier got away with that one.

Messi for me. The guy's a class apart already and he's so young. He'll get even better. I can't wait to see him in the World Cup. How good will he be by 2010?

In a nutshell No, Ronaldo is not the best player in the world , after Wednesday he is not even in the top 5.
    1.Iniesta.
    2.Messi
    3.Xavi
    4.Kaka
    5.Torres ( I hate Liverpool )
    I'll update this next year.
