****ing dublin bias....
Just got word....
The League Cup Final will take place on Aug 25th at Richmond Park. The final will be a one-leg affair

Monday, one-leg... FFS any chance of a big home gate gone and forgive me for being money orientated but we need the cash...

I presume both clubs agreed as earlier this week I heard that both clubs were in "negotiations"

Aug 25th in Richmond? Much prefer one leg games meself, but one game at our League Cup Final opponents ground? Dublin bias totally..... Is UCD game on that weekend too?
Apparently both clubs wanted a one off final and there was a toss of a coin to decide where. (Cheaper than renting out another ground)

Totally bias, Pats called once the coin had landed.... It'll be a split gate anyway, and well it suits me far better than negogiating the traffic from the smoke to Longford.....

I understand the reasons for the one leg final but it looks like a missed opportunity for Longford to hype up having a national cup final in the town.
More local press coverage likely if one game was in Longford plus young fans are unlikely to go to Dublin but would have enjoyed a big game at home
seems crazy but if thats what was agreed......
tbh If we carry on playing like we did on Saturday, any new comers would be more likely to be put off than to actually come to another game.....

i think its great that both clubs could agree something based on common sense...the league is more important so have the final but dont make a two legged four course dinner of the bloody thing, a one off game will suit all concerned
but there really should be euro places for the winner if the winner is a dublin club
